LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Olympian-turned-media personality-turned-political dabbler Caitlyn Jenner has sparked speculation about a gubernatorial run in 2026 with some rather bold claims about how she would fare against Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Monday, November 25, Jenner took to social media to address whispers about her political ambitions. She wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "If I ran, and it was ultimately against Harris, I would destroy her."

This came as a response to a question about whether she would consider another bid for California governor once Gavin Newsom reaches his term limit in 2026. Jenner followed up her fiery claim with a rallying cry: "MAKE CA GREAT AGAIN."

The rhetoric isn’t new for Jenner, who’s been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump. However, the confidence behind her latest comments has raised eyebrows, especially considering her last foray into politics.

Caitlyn Jenner’s political resume isn’t exactly robust. She entered the California political scene during the 2021 recall election, hoping to unseat Gavin Newsom. Unfortunately for her, the effort was less of a sprint and more of a stumble, with Jenner securing just 1% of the vote. Still, she seems undeterred by the numbers.

In a post on X, the former decathlete teased the possibility of another campaign, writing, "Should we do it again? Have been getting a lot of calls with a lot of strong opinions. Newscum is out in 2026."

When a follower pointed out her dismal performance in 2021, Jenner brushed it off, saying, "Recalls are quite different. Times are also quite different."

Jenner's announcement naturally invited its share of backlash and trolling online.

One user snarked, "Is this satire?" while another took a jab at Jenner, writing, "This isn’t a decathlon in ’76." "You’re dreaming Caitlyn. The Republicans hate you. They wish you were never around," remarked a person.

"What qualifications do you have to be governor?" asked an individual. One simply said, "That would be lovely to watch 😂🤣."

But Jenner didn't shy away. When one user questioned whether she would be considered the "right 'Trans'" by the so-called "woke brigades," the 75-year-old quipped, "Absolutely not. Which is even more fun," as per KTVU.

Kamala Harris, Caitlyn Jenner, and the future of California politics

Caitlyn Jenner’s pointed remarks come at a time when Vice President Kamala Harris’s political future is also fraught with uncertainty. Though the vice president has yet to make any public declarations, reports suggest she may be eyeing a run for Governor of California or even considering a presidential bid in 2028.

Jenner’s stance aligns with much of the MAGA agenda, particularly when it comes to controversial topics like transgender rights. Despite being a transgender woman herself, Jenner has taken stances that alienate a major section of the LGBTQ+ community, such as advocating against allowing trans women in women’s sports.

Earlier this month, the former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete announced she was returning her 2016 Woman of the Year award, citing the distress it caused some people.

On X, she wrote, "It has become clear, in speaking with many families, men and women, the distraught nature this acceptance of the award still brings them today."

"Upon discussion, thought and reflection, I agree. It’s important to me that I walk the walk like I have on so many of the issues (minors not being treated for transitioning, and sports- no men in women’s sports) I can no longer, in good faith, hold onto this award," added Jenner.

Jenner's alignment with Trump and the Republican Party continues despite controversies surrounding the former president’s policies. Recently, reports surfaced that Trump’s team is considering reinstating a ban on transgender military personnel.

When asked for clarification, Trump’s spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied the reports and rather stated that "no decisions on this issue have been made," as per Queerty.
