WASHINGTON, DC: Cardi B expressed her admiration for Kamala Harris on Wednesday, November 7, lauding her for fight against Donald Trump after he won the presidential election.

Cardi B said Kamala Harris' resilience and determination set an inspiring example, particularly for her daughters and also changed her mind like many others. 

Cardi B praises Kamala Harris’ 'strength and heart'

The rapper praised Kamala Harris for embodying the American dream and said she felt personally moved by her resolve, adding that Harris’ journey showed what is possible for women of color in America.

"No matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency, they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and integrity!" Cardi B wrote.

"You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you!" she continued.

She added that Harris never accepted defeat as an option, "which says so much about your strength and about your heart. You really wanted better for all of us!”

The rapper continued her post, saying, "This may not mean much but I am so proud of you!"

Cardi B went on to acknowledge the powerful influence Harris had on her personally.

"No one has ever made me change my mind and you did! I never thought I would see the day that a woman of color would be running for the President of the United States."

Cardi B thanks Kamala Harris for being a role model

In her message, Cardi B expressed her gratitude for Kamala Harris’ role in inspiring future generations.

“Thank you for being an example, thank you for being empowered, thank you for being a real example of what the American dream should be!” Cardi B concluded her post, showing appreciation for Harris' influence on her daughters and women across the country.

Later, Cardi B took to X (formerly Twitter), where she reposted her statement, asking followers to keep a positive tone, despite the election results.

She wrote, "No need to nasty, y’all picked your winner… All we can do is be hopeful and wish the best."



 

Cardi B shared how Harris’ run for office had affected her perspective. "Before Kamala joined the race, we knew how this country is set up and what was probably going to happen, but it was so inspiring how she fought and changed so many minds, including mine," she said.

Kamala Harris congratulates Donald Trump for winning 2024 presidential election

Following Donald Trump’s victory, Kamala Harris conceded defeat, according to the Associated Press.

"Harris called Trump to congratulate him on his election victory," a senior Harris aide said, adding that she discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power with Trump ahead of her planned concession speech.

President Joe Biden also called Trump to congratulate him on his win and invited him to the White House to discuss the upcoming transition, as reported by the White House.

The White House staff will coordinate a date soon, with Biden planning to address the nation regarding the election outcome and transition of power. Biden also spoke with Harris to acknowledge her campaign efforts.
