Cher trolled for supporting Kamala Harris after claiming she’ll leave the country if Trump is elected
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singing icon Cher announced her endorsement of the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for the upcoming 2024 election late on Friday, October 18.
The Grammy winner took to social media to share her message, stating that she has been a longtime supporter of the vice president.
Cher is the latest to join the celebrity bandwagon backing Harris for the White House against her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, according to The Hill.
She has openly expressed her disdain for the business tycoon, telling The Guardian in an interview last year that she would consider leaving the United States if Trump were reinstated in the Oval Office.
“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she said. “If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave (the country).”
Cher's endorsement of Kamala Harris
In a video shared by Cher on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), she states, "I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my US senator. She fought for me then, and she is fighting for all of us now."
Harris represented California in the United States Senate from 2017 to 2021, after serving as the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2016, according to the Congress website.
