Cher 'wants to make peace' with her children amid relationship drama with boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher, 78, wishes to go back in time and mend ties with her children amid her romance drama with her much younger boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards, 38, according to sources.
The insider claimed that since Cher began dating Edwards in late 2022, her relationships with her sons Chaz Bono, 55, and Elijah Blue Allman, 48, have deteriorated, and the 'Believe' singer has been making every effort to regain their trust.

According to sources, Cher is now pleading with her estranged children, Chaz and Elijah, for forgiveness in a desperate attempt to regain their affection after being rocked by issues in her romance with Edwards.
"Cher says she’s doing this because she misses them, but everyone suspects she wants to make peace because she’s worried her relationship with AE won’t last and she doesn’t want to face the end of her life totally alone," a source revealed to In Touch Weekly.
Regarding how Chaz and Elijah feel about Edwards, the source clarified, "They don’t trust his intentions, and that has caused some friction. So Cher would never want to admit to them that there’s trouble brewing between her and AE."
Sources previously revealed that Cher's relationship with her considerably younger lover Edwards is reportedly strained due to the 78-year-old singer's "demanding" and "overbearing" behavior.
Over the years, Cher and her children have had a tense relationship; the most recent episode was when she tried to put Elijah, a recovered drug addict, under conservatorship.
Moreover, Chaz reportedly declined to invite Cher to his impending marriage to former child star Shara Blue Mathes because he was horrified by her conflict with Elijah.
The informant said, "Cher was furious, and they got into a big fight. But once Cher calmed down, she went into major damage control mode."
Cher has had 'strained relationship' with her children over the years
Cher's filing for conservatorship over Elijah, a recovered heroin addict, landed her in hot water with both of her kids. The conservatorship, she claimed, was "urgently needed" since he was "unable to manage his assets" because of his mental health and drug issues.
Cher was also worried that his addiction would be fueled by the regular distributions he received from a trust established by his late father, Gregg Allman, per OK! Magazine.
Elijah countered at the time that his mother Cher was "unfit to serve" as his conservator. "I am and have been capable of managing my own financial resources and resisting fraud and undue influence. I do not need a conservatorship," he said.
"My mother and I have had a strained relationship for years. My mother is 77 years old and will be 78 when this matter is heard. I have seen her suffer with depression in the past and I do not believe that she is capable of making appropriate decisions for my estate," Elijah added.
Additionally, Chaz decided not to invite his mother to his wedding to Shara Blue Mathes because he was angered by the back-and-forth court struggle.
Cher eventually reached a deal and decided to withdraw her application for the conservatorship in September.

Current status of Cher's May-December romance with much younger boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, a source recently revealed the current status of Cher's May-December romance with her much younger boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards.
"They’re still together but spending more time apart. She’s cooped up in that mansion of hers in Malibu and keeping to herself after all that drama with [son] Elijah [Blue Allman] that just got settled," the source said.
The singer, they continued, is "still testy and tired and demanding as hell, questioning his every move." Edwards, 40 years younger than Cher, is definitely not happy with the state of affairs.
The source added, "This is paranoia to AE and he grumbles she’s not giving him room to breathe." Moreover, Edwards finds Cher's actions "overbearing" as a result of the recent setbacks.
It seems that Cher has doubts about the relationship as well. The informant said that Cher "wonders if he was really that young prince that she thought he was."
"She needs more from him and has been acting needy and he’s pulling away. People are whispering they’re fizzling out, which is inevitable," the insider said.
The source added, "The feeling among their friends is, they never really were a well-suited couple for the long term even if she does a good job dragging him out to silence the rumors now and then."
However, Cher's representative refuted the story, stating that it is "very not true."
