Cher's relationship with boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards is in trouble due to her 'overbearing' nature
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher and her much younger boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards, 38, are facing problems in their relationship allegedly because of the 78-year-old singer’s "overbearing" and "demanding" nature.
A source close to the 'Believe' songstress recently opened up to InTouch regarding the current status of her May-December romance.
Alexander 'AE' Edwards feels Cher isn't giving him room to breathe
Speaking to InTouch, the insider shared, "They're still together but spending more time apart. She’s cooped up in that mansion of hers in Malibu and keeping to herself after all that drama with [son] Elijah [Blue Allman] that just got settled."
They added that the singer is "still testy and tired and demanding as hell, questioning his every move."
Naturally, AE, who is 40 years Cher's junior, isn't thrilled about the current situation.
"This is paranoia to AE and he grumbles she’s not giving him room to breathe," dished the source. Moreover, the recent upheavals have caused AE to find Cher's behavior "overbearing."
The ‘Strong Enough’ hitmaker is apparently also skeptical about the relationship. As per the insider, Cher "wonders if he was really that young prince that she thought he was."
"She needs more from him and has been acting needy and he’s pulling away. People are whispering they’re fizzling out, which is inevitable," added the tipster.
They further noted, "The feeling among their friends is, they never really were a well-suited couple for the long term even if she does a good job dragging him out to silence the rumors now and then."
However, a representative for Cher denied the rumor, saying that this is "very not true."

Cher and Alexander "AE" Edwards first met in October 2022 during the Paris Fashion Week. Within a month, they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles, and Cher confirmed the relationship on X (formerly Twitter).
In March 2023, Cher and AE made their red carpet debut while attending the Versace fashion show in Los Angeles. However, in May 2023, various outlets stated that the couple had decided to call it quits.
The split didn't last very long as the pair rekindled their romance in September 2023 and were seen together at the Paris Fashion Week.
It now remains to be seen whether their relationship can withstand the recent hurdles that have rocked their romance more than a year after their initial break up.
