SANTA CLAIRE, CALIFORNIA: Not only President Donald Trump but singer Chris Brown also voiced his disapproval of Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl performance on Sunday, February 8.
On Instagram, Brown shared a subtle, indirect critique without mentioning Bad Bunny, signaling that he wasn’t impressed by the halftime show.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny delivered a high-energy set full of hits from his chart-topping albums, earning praise from fans and fellow musicians alike.
Chris Brown throws subtle shade at Bad Bunny
“Under the Influence” singer Chris Brown shared a one-line post on his Instagram story: “I think it’s safe to say... They need me!” He followed the caption with a face emoji and a dark background.
Brown did not clarify who “they” referred to, but fans quickly noted the post’s timestamp coincided with Bad Bunny’s star-studded halftime show, which included appearances by Cardi B, Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga, Jessica Alba, and more.
While music fans continued applauding Bad Bunny for the cultural showcase, Brown’s post suggested he was not among the supporters. The recent Grammy winner has yet to respond to Brown’s comment.

Bad Bunny uses stage to highlight social issues
Grammy winner Bad Bunny has also used his platform to address social issues, including immigration policy. At the 2026 Grammy Awards, while accepting the award for Best Musica Urbana Album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” he opened his speech by saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out." He added: “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans,” urging people to resist hate with love.
