LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Pratt recently revealed that he had to get "permission" from his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger before signing his upcoming sci-fi film, 'The Electric State', which also stars Millie Bobby Brown.

While speaking at a panel for the Netflix film at New York Comic Con, the actor explained, "I had intended to take a chunk of time off to be home and then I read this script and I was like, 'Ahhhhh f**k, I guess I have to do this movie.' It was so good and opportunities like this just don't come around that often."

He added,  "It has themes that are so resonant and important for today regards to technology and humanity. So it's just a special film and when something like this comes along, you have to do it."

"I had my wife even read it and she was like, 'Yeah, I think you have to do this movie.' So I got permission from mama, and I came and got to play with the boys and the girls," shared Pratt.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger, who tied the knot in 2019, share two daughters, Lyla Maria, four, and Eloise Christina, two. They're currently expecting their third child.

Chris Pratt thought 'The Electric State' might be his last opportunity to be in a big movie

In 'The Electric State', Chris Pratt portrays an eccentric drifter Keats and Millie Bobby Brown plays Michelle, an orphaned teenager who traverses the American West with a robot and Keats, in search of her younger brother, as per The Daily Mail.

During the New York Comic Con panel, Pratt further shared, "It's so original, it's a huge swing, and I thought that this might be... I don't know... maybe my last opportunity to be in a big movie like this [and] I have to look at every opportunity like that."

Praising Brown, he said, "We met when she was very much a child at the Kids' Choice Awards. And I remember just from that moment, she was so sweet and innocent and pure. And of course, I'm a huge fan of 'Stranger Things' and I've been watching her body of work."

"It's been awesome to watch her career take off and to see her take over and start to rule the world, and so I was really eager to work with her," expressed the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor.

Referring to the 'Stranger Things' actress' husband Jake Bongiovi, Pratt said, "They're just totally awesome and normal people who live extraordinary lives, and I can see the person in that because I feel kind of the same way."

He added, "So we had a great time. We became fast friends and you can't get rid of this, sorry!"

Millie Bobby Brown talks about working with Chris Pratt

Responding to Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown said, "I'm very glad to have you as my friend" and admitted that she felt "intimidated" when she first walked on the set of 'The Electric State'.

She shared, "Of course it's intimidating, I'm 19, I have to be here, and I have to give you 50 percent and I was intimidated. And then he [Chris] walks on the set and he's like, 'Heeeeeeeey,' as if he's known me my whole life and I was like, 'Oh I feel seen and loved already,' and it was an immediate click."

"Every single take he would make me laugh and I think just having that kind of energy in any workplace - but on set specifically - creates this sense of trust and love and friendship that I think transpires onscreen, which I think is really special and really rare," added the 20-year-old.

'The Electric State' is scheduled to be released on Netflix on March 14, 2025.
