In March 2024, Matthew Modine disclosed in an interview with Access Online that he would be officiating Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's wedding.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great,” said Modine.
“Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows, and they loved what I wrote for them,” he added. “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.”
Millie announced their engagement on Instagram in April with a touching photo of the couple.

A few weeks later, Bongiovi's father, expressed his support for the couple during an appearance on Radio Andy.
