Chris Rock says he 'would like to move on' from Will Smith's infamous 2022 Oscars slap
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Rock is done talking about the infamous 2022 Oscars incident that saw him getting slapped by Will Smith on live TV.
The comedian, 61, faced the A-list actor’s wrath after joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith during the 94th Academy Awards. Now, years later, during an interview with GQ, Rock was asked about his recent statement about attending the future Oscars ceremony.
Chris Rock says he doesn't 'really like talking about' 2022 Oscars incident

In September, he had told Variety, “The only way I’ll go back is if I’m nominated, and I’m not getting nominated. And that’s OK. We’ll deal with that if it happens. Like, let’s manage expectations.”
But when Rock was pressed about it during the interview, published on November 3, he said, “I mean, it’s not like a threat or anything. I’m just saying it’s okay. Whatever happened happened. Everybody saw it. I don’t really like talking about it. By the way—any awards show.”

Chris Rock wants to not focus on 'some crazy night'
Elaborating further, the ‘Grown Ups’ actor stated, “Something happened. It wasn’t cool. And I would like to move on. I would like to—I had a nice career before it, and I know there’s a part of that that’s going to follow me the rest of my life.”
“I got jokes. I got scripts. I got movie scripts. I got TV shows. I’m writing a book. I’m doing shit. I have a plethora of art I’m trying to get out, and that’s what I want you to pay attention to, not some crazy night,” he added.
Chris Rock calls himself 'not a great husband'

Elsewhere during the interview, Rock also reflected on his 2016 divorce from Malaak Compton-Rock. The former pair are also parents to two daughters — Lola Simone Rock and Zahra Savannah Rock.
The filmmaker was asked about the 12-year gap between his 2014 movie ‘To Five’ and the recent release ‘Misty Green’.
His response was, “Some of it is I got divorced. Nobody has a successful divorce, so that takes time. Then once it’s done, okay, you’re not sitting on the money you had before, so now you got to really make some money.”
“So you go on tour, or two tours. So there was a lot of stand-up. There was a lot of getting my life together. You got a pandemic, you got a bunch of nonsense going on there,” Rock added, before noting, "I was not a great husband."
