Christina Ricci brands Megyn Kelly a 'danger to children' over 'barely legal' Epstein comments
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Christina Ricci is pushing back against Megyn Kelly’s take on Jeffrey Epstein.
The 'Yellowjackets' star torched the former Fox News anchor on Instagram after Kelly appeared to downplay how depraved Epstein’s crimes were.
Ricci kicked things off by posting a pointed quote to her Instagram Stories that read, “There’s definitely a difference between a 5-year-old and a 15-year-old. But that difference is not ‘whether or not sleeping with them makes you a p***phile,’” per screenshots obtained by BuzzFeed.
Ricci shared another slide featuring quotes lifted from Kelly’s recent interview with journalist Batya Ungar-Sargon on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” where the two dissected the newly released Epstein email dump from the House Oversight Committee.
The 45-year-old actress concluded, “This woman is a danger to children.”
Megyn Kelly’s controversial breakdown of Epstein
During the aforementioned podcast, Kelly did acknowledge Epstein’s abuse of minors.
She told Ungar-Sargon, “[Epstein] did like them young, and there were several young women who he did this to who were minors, who were underage. There's just no question about that.”
But she drew a hard line protecting President Donald Trump’s name. “That is a true fact about Jeffrey Epstein. But that is not a true fact about Donald Trump," she insisted.
Kelly then dropped some insider intel, saying she knew “somebody very, very close” to the Epstein case, "who is in a position to know virtually everything.”
According to her, this unnamed source had long told her that “Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a p***phile.”
She elaborated, “He was into the barely legal type. Like, he liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize this is disgusting. I'm definitely not trying to make an excuse for this. I'm just giving you facts, that he wasn't into, like, 8-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.”
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old." pic.twitter.com/a7wmT3BRJU

But as the National Library of Medicine notes, most research has “accepted a legal definition of p***philia, treating all offenders convicted of 'child molestation' as p***philes, regardless of the age or appearance of the victim."
Megyn Kelly says she was misled for years
Kelly explained that she had believed this “he wasn’t technically a p***phile” line for years, right up until former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed earlier this year that the FBI allegedly had “tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child p***” on his computer.
“And that is what I believed, and that is what I reliably was told for many years. And it wasn't until we heard from Pam Bondi that they had tens of thousands of videos of alleged — forgive me, they used to call it 'kiddie p***,' — on his computer, that for the first time, I thought, 'Oh no, he was an actual p***phile,'” Kelly said.
Kelly continued, “We have yet to see anybody come forward and say, 'I was under 10, I was under 14 when I first came within his purview.’ You can say that's a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There's a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?”
Instead, Kelly accused the mainstream press of making the Epstein story all about Trump and glossing over the victims involved. She complained, “Now every media outlet known to man is reporting on every word Epstein penned related to Donald Trump…So far, it hasn't worked,” per Vanity Fair.
Epstein notably died under mysterious circumstances in August 2019 in his prison cell in New York. He was awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors at the time.
