Cindy Crawford talked about pain of losing a child years before son Presley's tragic death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cindy Crawford had spoken about the pain of losing a child years before facing that devastating reality herself with the death of her son, Presley Gerber.
Presley, Crawford’s only son with husband Rande Gerber, died on September 20 at the age of 27. The cause of his death has not been determined, with the investigation still ongoing.
Cindy Crawford once opened up about losing her brother
More than a decade ago, Crawford spoke candidly about death and loss while reflecting on her own childhood and the death of her younger brother, Jeffrey, who died from leukemia.
During an interview with Mirror, Crawford, while referring to her mother Jennifer Sue Crawford-Molu, she said, “Growing up, I sometimes felt she should have been angry or outraged and she wasn't. She had a son that died. My dad had an affair and they divorced.”
“Those were painful things for her, but they didn't take away from her light as a person. Now I'm a mum myself, I've really come to appreciate her outlook on life. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child."
"He was four when he died. He was sick for two years,” the actress revealed in 2010.
Cindy Crawford described Presley Gerber as more like his dad
During the same interview, Crawford spoke candidly about her two children, whom she shares with husband Rande Gerber.
She had stated, “My son is more like Rande and my daughter Kaia Gerber is definitely more me. She likes school and she cares. My son is more like my husband. School is something to be tolerated for the PE, break time and his friends.”
Crawford’s old interview has resurfaced following the death of Presley.
Though the family has not issued any statement yet over the tragedy, a representative said, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Presley Gerber died at a rehab facility
As per the reports Presley died at a rehabilitation facility. A statement by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office read, “The investigation is still ongoing and there is limited information available. Death was pronounced at 09:45 hours on September 20, 2026, by responding paramedics.
"The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency.”
In 2023, Presley reportedly shared, “[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it. That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body."
"I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”
