Stephen Moore chimes in on 'golden' economy under Trump

While on ‘Saturday Morning Table for Five’, Stephen Moore and Jared Moskowitz butt heads over the state of the American economy.

Moore, who previously served as an economic advisor for Donald Trump, said that the difference between the economy under Jimmy Carter, Joe Biden, and Donald Trump was that it “really did stink” under the previous presidents.

He added that in terms of statistics, America had “seven million open jobs,” an all-time record and the "highest wages and salaries" in history.

Moore stated that America had “hundreds of billions of dollars” of capital coming in and that gasoline prices were at an all-time low. Moskowitz asked if America was “the greatest economy of all time.”

“It’s a golden era,” responded Moore.

When Moskowitz asked if that was correct, Moore said that “maybe not” of all time since the Reagan years “were maybe better.” However, he added that “150 million people” had money in the stock market presently.

“These are like DNC talking points from a year ago. Stock market’s great!” replied Moskowitz.

Stephen Moore argued that the economy was much worse under the Biden administration and that things would improve in 2026. He added that “87% of the high prices” people were complaining about happened under Biden,” he added.

Trump terms the affordability crisis a ‘hoax’

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump also commented on the state of the American economy and the much-talked-about affordability crisis. He said on Wednesday that the crisis was a “hoax” perpetuated by the Democrats.

He added that the Democrats were the ones who “drove the prices up” and said that he believed affordability was “the greatest con job.”

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also commented on the same during a recent press briefing and blamed the Democrats for fueling the affordability crisis.

She said on Thursday that they didn’t have a “single clue” about how to make America more affordable because they spent the “last four years creating the very affordability crisis” Donald Trump was fixing during his term.
