WASHINGTON, DC: Just hours after President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, a moment during a CNN panel sparked laughter and quickly became the highlight of the discussion.

During the June 24 episode of 'CNN News Night With Abby Phillip', a former aide claimed that former President Barack Obama was an “anti-war” president, a statement that quickly drew laughter and disbelief.

CNN contributor Scott Jennings couldn’t contain his amusement, pointing to Obama’s well-documented record of drone strikes and bombings. Even fellow panelist Cornel West chuckled in agreement.

The internet soon joined in, with many recalling how Obama’s military campaigns were anything but restrained, and far less precise than the targeted strikes President Trump recently authorized against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

A short clip circulating widely on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms has captured a viral moment from a recent CNN panel discussion. The exchange, filled with laughter and disbelief, unfolded when Johanna Maska, a former Obama aide, confidently claimed that Barack Obama was an “anti-war” president.

“The world as it should be, we should not have nuclear weapons. I agree with you 100%,” Maska said. “The world as it is. The president of the United States, I worked for an anti-war president, and I saw.”

But not everyone on the panel was willing to accept that narrative. CNN contributor Scott Jennings immediately burst into laughter, bending over in his chair in disbelief.

Maska, trying to defend her point, reiterated, “No, he was. He ran against...” Jennings quickly cut in with a pointed question: “How many countries did you bomb the crap out of?"

Trying to steer the conversation, Maska responded, “Well, that’s what I’m going to say, Scott,” but Jennings interjected again with a sarcastic, “Lord have mercy.”

She pushed further, asking, “No, like—you guys didn’t just use bombs for diplomacy?” Jennings fired back, “You want to put the scorecards up against each other between bombs and drones?”

To which Maska confidently replied, “I’m happy to put up scorecards. I got lots of scorecards.”

Later that night, Jennings posted the clip on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Was informed tonight on live TV that Obama was an “anti war” president.”

The irony wasn’t lost on viewers, especially given Obama's well-documented military record, including the fact that in his final year alone, he authorized the dropping of more than 25,000 bombs across seven Middle Eastern countries, as reported by Twitchy.

Internet stunned by a former Obama aide’s ‘anti-war’ claim

As the video of Obama’s former aide calling him an 'anti-war' president circulated online, many internet users quickly responded with disbelief and criticism.

One user wrote, "They literally ran out of bombs."

A commenter shared, "Remember when Obama killed Americans with drones? Democrats don't."

A user declared, "No he was. I'm serious. Lol!"

An X user shared, "What a joke."

A person slammed, "She was embarrassing. We ended Iran's nuclear capabilities and had a ceasefire in 48 hours. It was a brilliant exercise of political and military power and she can't stand that Trump did it."

One individual tweeted, "Don't forget Obamas 3 month long campaign utilizing the US Navy 7th fleet to bomb Yemen every day during that period in 2009. Much anti war."
