Colin Allred ends Senate bid, eyes Texas’ new 33rd District amid Crockett candidacy speculation
I am deeply moved by the personal stories and trust that so many Texans have placed in me. I'm forever grateful and believe it comes with heavy responsibility.

DALLAS, TEXAS: Former House Democrat Colin Allred announced his decision to end his campaign for the US Senate on Monday, December 8.
In an X post, the former representative wrote that he was “nowhere near done” serving his community and the state of Texas as he announced his campaign for Congress to represent the “newly drawn Congressional District 33.”
Allred’s announcement came the same day Jasmine Crockett is set to clear the air about her candidacy rumors for the US Senate.
Colin Allred accuses Trump of racial gerrymandering
In the X post, Allred wrote that in the past few days, he had come to believe that a “bruising Senate Democratic primary” and “runoff” would prevent the party from going into a “critical election” unified against the dangers the community faced.
He added that Donald Trump and his “Republican booklicks,” Paxton, Cornyn, and Hunt, posed said danger, which is why Allred decided to end his campaign for the Senate.
However, he announced that he was “nowhere near done” and that he would run for Congress.
Colin Allred also criticized the Trump administration and noted that the president allegedly “racially gerrymandered” the newly formed 33rd District.
He added that it was done “in an effort to further rid” American democracy. However, he noted that it was the community in which he grew up, attending public schools and watching his mother “struggle to pay” for groceries.
He added that Veterans in the District had access to VA hospitals because Allred made it a “reality” when he served in Congress.
Colin Allred alleges Trump has added a new level of 'corruption'
Allred added that on January 6, he was “prepared to physically fight” and defend America. However, Donald Trump and the added level of “corruption and rigging the economy” made it harder for Texans.
“I’m humbly asking to return to Congress,” he said.
The representative further said that he wanted to keep fighting for the children growing up “across the 33rd District” to get the same chances he did.
Allred further asked for resources in a follow-up comment. He wrote that they needed a “grassroots moment” like none other to “beat Trump’s gerrymandered” maps and “take back the House.”
