DAVENPORT, IOWA: Former President Donald Trump, the apparent front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, spoke at a Fox News town hall in Iowa on Tuesday, December 5, fewer than six weeks before the state's Republican caucuses.

The event in Davenport was a pre-recorded, hour-long interview hosted by Sean Hannity, who interacted with the former POTUS, discussing a host of issues, but most notably his thoughts on his opponent, President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden’s indictment.

Notably, Hunter was indicted on Thursday, December 7, in California on federal charges that have revealed more than just his alleged failure to pay taxes over an extended period of time.

He is also said to have resorted to fraudulent accounting in his businesses to cover up payments to strippers, escorts, and adult entertainment, as per Fox News.

Hannity asked the former president, "You have Hunter Biden on tape admitting on 'Good Morning America' he has no experience in energy, oil, gas, coal or Ukraine. And then Joe leveraged a billion dollars of our money, in spite of it being Obama policy, to give them a billion in loan guarantees. And then he gets the prosecutor fired."

He added, "Hunter was admitted as an addict at the time. No experience, continues to get paid. The CEFC. That's the WhatsApp message. ‘I'm sitting here next to my father, and you haven't fulfilled your bargain.’ Five days later, according to James Comer, $5 million ends up in one of what Comer calls their shell accounts."

"And do you think that Joe Biden is compromised by these countries based on the amount of money in business he did with China and with Russia and with Kazakhstan and Romania and Ukraine? Do you believe that?" further inquired the Fox host.

Trump addressed Hannity’s concerns against the Biden family’s alleged dealing by saying, "First of all, Jamie Comer and Jim Jordan are doing a great job. We'll do that real quickly. But they are doing a great job."

He expressed, "They are really putting it on the line, but not only compromised. So if you look at the kind of money they're getting, where Hunter from sitting on a board. A board! He's sitting on a board! He's getting $168,000 a month, they say, and he got a $3 million payment. And he knows nothing about energy. It's an energy company."

Trump continued, "Can you imagine if I did it? He never painted a painting in his life. A picture, a painting! Never painted in his life! And they're selling paintings for $500,000 apiece."

"And he's getting a half a million dollars. And I hear maybe it's wrong, but I hear that China bought a lot of those paintings. Okay. But when I heard the 500, I said, you know, that's one that's never going to go. And now people take it like it's okay," claimed Trump.

"Could you imagine me doing that? Or my sons doing that? No. Or the great Ivanka Trump doing that? Do we like Ivanka? I think we like Ivanka a lot," asked the ex-POTUS.

The 2024 presidential hopeful expressed, "But could you imagine Eric or Don? I say the concept is incredible. He's getting half a million dollars of painting and nobody can even check. Know, they haven't really checked it, but I hear the numbers are staggering."

Charges against Hunter Biden compromises his father Joe Biden’s upcoming presidential campaign

Accusations against Hunter claim that he paid $683,212 to various women between 2016 and 2019, including those with whom he had personal or sexual interactions.

He also allegedly spent $188,960 on adult entertainment, including strip clubs, exotic dancers, and a sex club membership.

The $872,172 total was only a fraction of the millions spent before receiving monetary support between January 2020 and October 2020.

Hunter was also accused of failing to properly account for a $11,500 payment to an escort for spending two nights with him.

In 2018, he supposedly authorized his personal assistant to place three women with whom he had romantic or sexual relationships on his business payroll, providing them with healthcare benefits, in order to reduce his tax burden.

The indictment states that Biden knew the earnings were a false deduction but failed to notify his accountants.

Biden allegedly even authorized a $1,248 payment for plane tickets for an exotic dancer flying from Los Angeles to New York in September 2018.

During the town hall, Trump also touched on the mystery surrounding Hunter's paintings as he supposedly earned $875,000 from 11 artworks.

He is also said to have sold paintings to Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Democratic donor appointed to a prestigious federal commission.

This transaction has raised questions about the extent to which the President's family members' business dealings are separated from his administration in light of his promise to maintain an "absolute wall" between the two, as reported by Business Insider

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's assessment of Hunter Biden

One said, "WONDER if Hunter paid taxes on the income from those $500.000 painting. You better believe he didn't give a true amount. Once a crook always a crook."

Another remarked, "If trump had only done what Hunter did, he would not be in any where near as much trouble as he is for his own criminal acts."

"Hunter's scandals, a whole new level of oopsies!" quipped a user, while someone else said, "Hunter sat on a board and got major splinters."

A person took a dig at the ex-POTUS, writing, "Trump is awesome because he says absolutely nothing in so many words"
