From escorts to adult entertainment: Five alleged risque details from Hunter Biden indictment
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Hunter Biden's indictment on Thursday, December 7, in California on federal charges has revealed more than just his alleged failure to pay taxes over an extended period of time.
The indictment, filed by DOJ Special Counsel David Weiss in the US District Court for the Central District of California, states that Biden had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars specifically on "adult entertainment" and "women," spending on a sex club membership and strippers.
The indictment alleges that these expenditures were made during the years when he was earning millions of dollars.
Here are 5 alleged risqué details that emerged from Hunter Biden's indictment:
Hunter Biden allegedly spent $872,172 on 'various women' and 'adult entertainment'
According to the indictment, between 2016 and 2019, Biden paid $683,212 to "various women," which included people he had personal or sexual interactions with.
He also allegedly spent $188,960 on adult entertainment, which included strip clubs, exotic dancers, and a sex club membership.
"Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the Defendant spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes," the indictment stated.
The $872,172 in total was only a fraction of the millions that Biden is said to have spent during those years before he finally received monetary support between January 2020 and October 2020—funds that never ended up with the Internal Revenue Service.
Hunter Biden allegedly classified payments to a stripper and escort as 'business expenses'
On January 28, 2020, Biden met with his accountant in California to verify the general ledger for his company entity, Owasco PC, to ensure line-item accuracy.
"While he reviewed the schedules for 'Office Expenses' and 'Professional and Outside Services,' the Defendant affirmatively identified, with a yellow highlighter, personal expenses that should not be deducted as business expenses," according to the indictment.
It further stated that he neglected to report a $1,500 Venmo payment to an exotic dancer at a strip club on August 14, 2018, as a personal expense rather than a corporate expense.
"The Defendant described the payment in the Venmo transaction as for 'artwork.' The exotic dancer had not sold him any artwork," the indictment stated.
Biden is also accused of failing to properly account for a $11,500 payment to an escort for spending two nights with him.
Hunter Biden accused of classifying paid sexual partners as employees on his payroll to decrease tax burden
In 2018, Biden reportedly authorized his personal assistant to place three women "with whom he had romantic or sexual relationships," as well as a fourth woman related to one of the three, on his business payroll, along with "providing them with healthcare benefits," the indictment read.
According to the indictment, Biden knew the earnings, totaling $86,000, were "a false deduction," but he failed to notify his accountants.
"These payroll expenses were treated as business expenses on Owasco, PC's Form 1120, reducing the amount of income to the Defendant and, as a result, his individual income tax liability," the indictment stated.
Hunter Biden allegedly fraudulently claimed stripper and sex club expenditures were 'business costs'
Biden allegedly misclassified expenditures from his personal bank account and other wire transfers as business expenses at a meeting with his California accountant on January 28, 2020.
"Many of the expenses the Defendant circled were not, as he knew, business expenses. Instead, they were personal expenses generated during what he described in his memoir as a ‘bacchanal’ in 2018," according to the indictment.
Biden allegedly authorized a $1,248 payment for plane tickets for an exotic dancer flying from Los Angeles to New York in September 2018.
"The Defendant wired money to JP Morgan Chase to pay personal expenses and falsely represented to the CA Accountants that these wire transfers were business expenses," the indictment stated. "In truth, the wire transfers from the Owasco, PC account to JP Morgan Chase were to pay for personal expenses."
In July 2018, a wire transfer of $18,000 was made to an unnamed individual, $10,000 of which was for a "golf member deposit."
"In fact, at the Defendant's direction, the $10,000 was used to purchase a membership in a sex club," the indictment stated, noting that he went to the club with the particular individual to whom he wired the money.
Hunter Biden allegedly used his company credit card at a strip club to spend thousands
According to the indictment, Biden utilized his business credit line "to pay personal expenses and falsely represented to the CA Accountants that it was for business expenses."
"In truth, the Defendant had used the business line of credit to pay for luxury hotels, restaurants, high-end clothing, and other personal items in New York and in California during 2018, among others," the indictment stated.
In January, $3,947 was allegedly paid to M Street Management, a Washington, D.C. strip club, and $774 was allegedly paid to an exotic dancer via Venmo in April.
