‘Cozying up to the Biden family’: Laura Loomer slams Candace Owens for apologizing to Hunter

WASHINGTON, DC: Far-right activist Laura Loomer and conservative commentator Candace Owens traded barbs publicly after Loomer claimed Owens was acting suspiciously following her recent interview with Hunter Biden, ratcheting up tensions between two prominent figures once associated with President Donald Trump’s political orbit.

The fight broke out after Owens, in a widely discussed interview with Hunter, apologized for past comments and said she felt “guilty” about some of the rhetoric directed toward him over the years.

The dispute drew heightened attention because Candace Owens has long been known as a fierce critic of the Biden family and Democratic politics.

Owens brawled with Laura Loomer over the latter’s accusations that Hunter’s recent interview with Owens was a bid to aid her efforts to beat French President Emmanuel Macron’s lawsuit against her.

Loomer, who has previously come to blows with Owens, claimed that she believed the podcaster was “cozying up to the Biden family” to gain support for her upcoming motion-to-dismiss hearing in a high-profile defamation lawsuit filed against Owens by the French president.

The clash quickly spread across conservative social media circles because both women have built large followings through pro-Trump commentary, aggressive political rhetoric, and viral online feuds.

“I’m sorry. I feel guilty,” Owens told Hunter during the interview, a moment that quickly circulated online and sparked backlash from some conservative activists.

Loomer listed several reasons she believed the podcast appearance was related to the lawsuit, writing that the judge in the suit was appointed by Delaware Governor John Carney Jr (D) before listing his ties to former President Joe Biden.

“This means Carney, who appointed the judge overseeing Candace Owens’ defamation case, knows Hunter Biden, in addition to knowing the judge,” she wrote in a lengthy post.

“I believe this is why Candace Owens is cozying up to the Biden family one month before her motion to dismiss hearing. She’s likely hoping her closeness to the Biden family and their relationship with the former Governor of Delaware who appointed the judge overseeing her case will win her favor with the judge or win her favor in Delaware if her case goes to trial.”

The public fallout also highlighted how quickly alliances within pro-Trump media circles can fracture when prominent commentators break from expected political narratives.

Owens hit back at Loomer hours later, calling Loomer a “rabid Hyena” before excoriating Loomer’s previous claims that Owens might flee the country over the lawsuit.

“LMAO. Can someone with an IQ above 40 explain to this rabid hyena what a jurisdictional argument is in court so that she can avoid slapping “EXCLUSIVE!” on her mental disfigurations in the future?” wrote Owens.

“It may also help her understand why no one needs to “flee the country” or “hide assets” at the Vatican before a first hearing (last month’s schizophrenic musings).”

“The problem with Larry Loomer isn’t her mental illness,” wrote Owens. “It’s the stupidity paired with it.”

Owens’ willingness to show sympathy for Hunter Biden stood out. Conservative media figures have spent years portraying him as a symbol of corruption and political scandal linked to the Biden family.

Loomer’s reaction showed the frustration among some hardline Trump supporters, who viewed Owens’ comments as a major shift from her previous statements.

Meanwhile, others supported Owens for having what they viewed as a more personal and emotionally open conversation with Hunter instead of a purely confrontational political interview.
