WASHINGTON, DC: Far-right activist Laura Loomer, on Saturday, May 23, reacted sharply to the resignation of Tulsi Gabbard as director of National Intelligence, celebrating her exit while alleging that US adversaries viewed her favorably.

Loomer made the comments on X, linking Gabbard’s departure to criticism of American intelligence leadership.

Gabbard had announced her resignation on Friday, citing personal reasons tied to her husband’s serious illness, marking the end of her tenure in the intelligence role under President Donald Trump’s administration.

In a post shared on X, Loomer reacted strongly to the news, framing Gabbard’s resignation as a positive development. “Thank God Tulsi Gabbard resigned!!!” she wrote.

Loomer went on to claim that Gabbard was viewed positively by US adversaries, suggesting that foreign governments such as Iran and Russia had a favorable opinion of her.

“This is how the Iranian embassy talks about her. They love her!” she said, without providing evidence for the claim.

“All of our enemies love Tulsi Gabbard. She talks a nice talk with the military schtick, but you have to wonder why Russia and Iran love Tulsi Gabbard,” Loomer added.

She further argued that Gabbard’s influence had negatively affected intelligence reporting.

“No wonder why all of President Trump’s intel reports have been trash. She prepared them,” Loomer wrote.

In a final line, Loomer also made a personal remark about Gabbard’s background, writing: “As a Hindu, she should know better.”

Tulsi Gabbard's letter cites husband's diagnosis

Gabbard stepped down after submitting a formal resignation letter to the White House, in which she cited her husband Abraham’s medical condition as the primary reason for leaving office.

“My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer,” she wrote in the letter.

“He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle,” Gabbard added.

In the letter, she also reflected on her time in office, noting efforts to restructure elements of the intelligence community and improve transparency across agencies.

“While we have made significant progress at the ODNI, I recognize there is still important work to be done,” she wrote, pledging a smooth transition before stepping down on June 30, 2026.

She concluded by thanking the president and the American people for the opportunity to serve.
