WASHINGTON, DC: Candace Owens used a conversation with Hunter Biden to air skepticism about multiple assassination attempts targeting President Donald Trump and the response to Charlie Kirk's death.

Owens and Hunter also discussed allegations of government misconduct, past controversies involving the former first son, and complaints about how major political events are explained to the public.

Candace Owens questions investigations and says she’s losing faith in politics

During the conversation, Owens focused heavily on what she described as unanswered questions surrounding Kirk’s killing.

“We still don’t know what happened to Charlie,” Owens said, arguing there has been “zero interest” in fully investigating the incident.

She pointed to what she saw as a lack of urgency from people ranging from the Trump family to FBI Director Kash Patel and others.

“To see all of these people have zero interest in the obvious holes in this story, even if ultimately the holes get filled and there’s a picture that makes sense, which I put that at zero percent chance. But just, you know, the fact that they have zero interest and are just accepting the narrative […] I’m just done with politics," she said.

Owens then argued that people raising questions are being dismissed.

“That element of gaslighting that’s happening here,” Owens continued. “They’re pretending that the people who are noticing that none of this is making sense are the crazy ones, and everyone else who’s like, ‘Nope, turn the chapter a week later, it’s all solved […] and none of it makes sense but just accept this slop’ — it is the most infuriating thing and it’s fully removed the scales from my eyes.”

She added, “This is sheer evil,” drawing agreement from Hunter.

“Exactly. It is good versus evil,” he replied.

Hunter also defended Owens for publicly questioning the circumstances around Kirk’s death.

“And the criticism of you for asking the questions for someone who was like a brother to you, it’s like, what the f**k are you talking about?” he said. “I listen to you and I go, ‘right on!’"

Candace Owens and Hunter Biden on Trump and alleged government obfuscation

The discussion then delved into alleged institutional corruption and frustration with official narratives.

“I do think there was something about the Charlie Kirk assassination that everyone just sort of looked up, we just sort of all looked up at the machine and was like, ‘Wait a second, what is this?’” Owens said.

Hunter responded that the concerns were not isolated.

“I’m here, and you’re here. And I really think that we’re not unique,” he said. “This, what we’re witnessing right now, isn’t right. The level of corruption, the obfuscation. I mean, whether it’s Butler or Charlie, or these things, it’s just not right. And, I mean, it’s so glaringly not right, it’s almost as if they’re saying, ‘F*** you,’” he remarked.

Owens followed by criticizing what she described as increasingly unconvincing public messaging.

“They’re not even trying. […] It’s so disrespectful that we’re not even getting good PSYOPs anymore,” she said. “We’re supposed to believe that [Trump] survived four, what do we got, four assassination attempts? The first president that’s ever survived four assassination attempts? They lie to us about things, they make a big deal, and then they make it want to, you know, it’s going to go away.”

Owens also criticized public reactions surrounding the Turning Point USA founder's death, including his widow, Erika Kirk.

“They’re going to keep pretending and telling us that this is a totally normal, grieving widow, okay — no one’s buying that. […] This is not how you would react to your husband being shot,” she claimed.

“You’re asking us to abandon our common sense and our humanity,” Owens added. “They’re just constantly giving us slop. I mean, even the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner. There was so much theater to it afterward, so much theater, and now it's kind of, ‘Okay, the Secret Service maybe shot each other and we’re just going to quietly move on.’ But Trump needs a ballroom.”

What authorities have said

Authorities have attributed the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt against Trump to the deceased gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks. While the investigation technically remains open, federal authorities have said they found no evidence of foreign involvement and concluded Crooks acted alone.

Separately, Ryan Ruth is serving a life sentence after being convicted in connection with an attempt on Trump’s life in September 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

In another incident, prosecutors charged Cole Tomas Allen with attempting to take Trump’s life after an alleged effort to storm the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC, during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.

Meanwhile, prosecutors in Utah charged Tyler Robinson with the murder of Kirk. He is awaiting trial.
