'A miracle': Charlie Kirk bullet did not exit body, potentially saving lives, says surgeon

OREM, UTAH: Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet shared an eyebrow-raising detail about Charlie Kirk’s fatal shooting. According to Kolvet, the bullet that struck the 30-year-old conservative firebrand never exited his body, something his surgeon called an “absolute miracle.”
"I want to address some of the discussion about the lack of an exit wound with Charlie," Kolvet, who also serves as executive producer of 'The Charlie Kirk Show,' wrote in a lengthy post on X. "I’m usually not interested in delving into most of this kind of online chatter, and I apologize this is somewhat graphic, but in this case, the fact that there wasn’t an exit wound is probably another miracle, and I want people to know."

Andrew Kolvet calls Charlie Kirk the 'man of steel'
Kolvet said he had just spoken with Kirk’s surgeon, who told him the bullet "absolutely should have gone through, which is very, very normal for a high-powered, high-velocity round. I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times, and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc."
When Kolvet told the surgeon that dozens of staff, students, and guests had been standing directly behind Kirk when he was shot, the doctor reportedly said that "it was an absolute miracle that someone else didn’t get killed."

The surgeon also told Kolvet that Kirk's "bone was so healthy and the density was so, so impressive that he’s like the man of steel. It should have just gone through and through. It likely would have killed those standing behind him too."
The coroner later found the bullet lodged just behind Kirk’s skin, Kolvet revealed.
"Even in death, Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him," Kolvet added. "Remarkable. Miraculous."
Shooting at Utah Valley University
On September 10, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The event marked the kickoff of his "American Comeback Tour," with around 3,000 people filling the Fountain Courtyard.
During a question-and-answer session, chaos erupted when a single shot rang out from the roof of the nearby Losee Center building. The bullet struck Kirk in the neck. Video from the event showed him collapsing on stage as panicked attendees screamed and scrambled.
He was rushed to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.

Tyler James Robinson arrest and manhunt
The shooting sparked a massive 33-hour manhunt. Authorities later recovered a high-powered, bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel in a wooded area near campus. DNA pulled from the towel and a screwdriver found on the rooftop where the shot was fired matched 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Robinson was arrested on September 11 after a family member recognized him in photos released by the FBI and contacted authorities. He was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice.
While Robinson isn't fully cooperating with investigators, his family members and romantic partner are. They told authorities he had grown increasingly political in recent years, drifting away from his conservative upbringing.
FBI officials said forensic evidence and text messages recovered show Robinson expressed a desire to "take out" Kirk because of a hatred for "what Charlie stood for."
