NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro appeared on 'Fox and Friends' on Friday, November 28, and weighed in on the recent Washington, DC, attack.

Pirro revealed that the charges against the suspected shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, were upgraded from assault to “murder in the first degree.”

Jeanine Pirro vows DC shooter will 'pay the ultimate price'

While in conversation with 'Fox and Friends', Jeanine Pirro prayed for the family of slain National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom, who succumbed to her injuries after being shot in Wednesday's attack.

Pirro noted that Sarah answered the call to serve her nation and had volunteered on Thanksgiving. She further said that Sarah was shot down, “ambush style,” by an individual who was now being charged with first-degree murder.

Pirro said that she was certain that many more charges would come up as the investigation progressed and that they would discover more information about the National Guard shooter, including what happened that led to his being in America.

“And being in a position to ambush and shoot down an innocent woman who was doing her duty to the people of this country,” she added.

When asked about what she could reveal about the ongoing investigation, the US Attorney for DC did not reveal too much information. However, Pirro said that they were continuing to seek warrants in the state of Washington and across the country to make the prosecution as factual as possible.

“To be gunned down on the streets on the nation’s holiday is an outrage, and the individual who did this will pay the ultimate price, according to the Attorney General Pam Bondi,” she stated.

Jeanine Pirro slams left for fueling the 'flame of division'

Jeanine Pirro said that she was outraged by the criticism and noted that a part of her believed that the "left" was disappointed that the National Guard didn’t shoot anybody.

“This left-wing progressive nonsense is nothing more than fueling the flame of division,” she said.

Pirro further said that people should be grateful to President Donald Trump for taking crime “so seriously” that he was willing to bring in law enforcement to protect innocent citizens. Chiming in on DC's declining crime rate in the past two years, and credited the president’s efforts for the same.

Pirro also claimed that there was "no vetting" while admitting Afghan nationals under Joe Biden administration's "Operation Allies Welcome" program.

"Let me say one more thing and it’s not about this case, it’s about vetting in general. The nonsense that the left gave us with this Operation Welcome Allies, look, there was no vetting. If you think there was vetting, I have a bridge to sell you," she said.

"There was no vetting. The welcome mat was thrown down. They admitted that they short circuited the vetting. What they did was they brought 90,000 people in this country that were not vetted," she added.
