Dem lawmaker claims Hillary Clinton 'ran circles around Republicans' during Epstein deposition
WASHINGTON, DC: A Democratic lawmaker gave details of Hillary Clinton’s deposition before the House Oversight Committee about her ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The former Secretary of State gave testimony on Thursday, February 26, that reportedly went on for six hours.
Representative Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper, revealing that Hillary told the committee that she did not meet the late financier and had no relation with his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Subramanyam also shared, “We would like the transcript to be released within 24 hours because the reality is she ran circles around the Republicans the entire time. It's still going and she's answering every single question being asked.”
The congressman then mentioned that it’s more important to interview “people who actually had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who knew the guy, who at least met the guy and know about his crimes.”
“There's so many people in the files and Hillary Clinton is not someone we should be focusing on,” he stressed.
Rep Suhas Subramanyam says Republicans 'embarrassed themselves' during deposition
Hillary testified in her hometown, Chappaqua, New York, as Subramanyam pointed out that Republicans did not attend Les Wexner's testimony in Ohio but 11 Republicans were present for her deposition. He also slammed Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) for leaking a photo from the closed-door deposition to a conservative influencer.
Subramanyam said, “This is a closed-door deposition. This isn't a family vacation. I don't know why she's secretly snapping photos,” before demanding full release of Epstein files as well as testimonies of Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
“I wish the press could have come in and just watched the whole thing. I think what they would have seen and what the American public would have seen was basically Republicans embarrassing themselves. Some of the questions had nothing to do with Epstein and Maxwell, and our investigation, and were very much irrelevant to it,” he added.
Subramanyam also accused the committee of “shift[ing] the tension from [President Donald] Trump and the Republicans to a Democrat like Hillary Clinton. But the reality was that she simply never met the guy, and it was a waste of our time."
Hillary Clinton says she 'never had any connection' with Epstein
Meanwhile, during her testimony, the former first lady insisted that she "had no idea about their [Epstein and Maxwell] criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that."
Hillary also spoke with reporters as she noted, "I never met Jeffrey Epstein. Never had any connection or communication with him. I knew Ghislaine Maxwell casually as an acquaintance."
