WASHINGTON, D.C.: An Easter message reminiscing about a "better time at the White House" has become a focal point of criticism for Democrats. The official X account of the Democratic Party shared an Easter post featuring former President Barack Obama, but not Joe Biden, who was the last Democratic leader to hold the Oval Office.

The post featured Obama standing next to a man in an Easter Bunny costume with the Washington Monument in the background. The image, taken from behind, was posted with the caption, "Better times at the White House."

The post sparked backlash for leaving out former Democratic President Joe Biden, as reactions focused on why Biden was not included or mentioned.

Social media speculated about the reason behind the post, which aimed to invoke nostalgia by featuring Obama in office while bypassing Biden’s presidency.

Christian influencer Renatta Oxendine asked, “Why are y’all skipping over Biden?" as other social media users echoed similar curiosity on the post, ignoring the party’s most recent president.

"Brutal smack down of Joe Biden,” Fox News Digital columnist David Marcus wrote.

Another user operating a handle name @FoundAMoron poked fun of the situation, sating that Democrats agree with "MAGA that Biden was cooked!"

Gavin Newsom's press office skips Biden

This follows a recent controversy in which California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office shared an image of Barack Obama urging users to repost if they miss “having a President with a functioning brain.”

The post sparked similar questions about why Democrats bypassed Biden’s tenure as president. Newsom’s post became the center of attention for omitting Biden, despite having supported him in the past.

Several social media users questioned the omission, with conservative podcaster Stephen L Miller writing, "They skipped someone."

The Republican Party also took the opportunity to respond by resharing an old post from Gavin Newsom that read, "Happy birthday, President @JoeBiden! We miss having a president who has physical stamina — and a functioning brain."

The GOP account added, "We know you ‘can’t read’ but remember posting this?"

After the backlash to the post, efforts to bypass the most recent Democratic president intensified. Newsom’s press office shared a post in which Biden was praised for his “empathy.” However, the damage was done, and the earlier post bypassing Biden continued to circulate.
