This story has been updated to include the DOJ's statement on the 'letter' with Larry Nassar

Update: The Justice Department on Tuesday, December 23, said the letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar is fake and that the handwriting "does not appear to match" Epstein's.

For a short time, the explosive letter appeared to link President Trump and Epstein, as it referred to "our president," who was Donald Trump at the time.

But the Justice Department says the FBI has confirmed the letter is not real.

Though Trump is mentioned multiple times in Tuesday's batch of files, he has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

WASHINGTON, DC: The Department of Justice released new information and documents related to Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, December 23.

Although the DOJ’s deadline to submit all documents related to Epstein expired on Friday, it has been gradually releasing batches of information, including nearly 30,000 pages, with its third batch.

The latest batch of information had several mentions of Donald Trump, including a letter that Jeffrey Epstein sent to Larry Nassar. The letter seemingly mentioned Trump as “our president” in 2019.

Epstein’s letter to Nassar was postmarked after his death

Larry Nassar sits in court listening to statements before being sentenced by Judge Janice Cunningham for three counts of criminal sexual assault in Eaton County Circuit Court on February 5, 2018 in Charlotte, Michigan. Nassar has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 150 girls and young women while he was a physician for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University. Cunningham sentenced Nassar to 40 to 125 years in prison. He is currently serving a 60-year sentence in federal prison for possession of child pornography. Last month a judge in Ingham County, Michigan sentenced Nassar to an 40 to 175 years in prison after he plead guilty to sexually assaulting seven girls.

It is not the first time a letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar has been mentioned, as it was previously reported by The Associated Press in 2023.

However, it is the first time the content of the letter has been released as part of the 'Epstein Files Transparency Act', which ordered the DOJ to release all Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.

The letter addressed to Larry Nassar read that the recipient knew that Epstein had taken the “short route home.” He said to Nassar, “Good luck,” and noted that they had one thing in common. Their love and care for “young ladies.”

“And the hope they’d reach their full potential,” it added.

Although the letter did not mention Donald Trump by name, it read that “our president” also shared their love for “young”, beautiful girls. Recalling his interactions with “our president,” Epstein wrote that whenever a “young beauty” walked by, he loved to interact with them.

“Life is unfair,” the letter concluded.

The letter was sent back to the sender and was postmarked August 13, 2018, three days after Epstein died in prison.

Flight log mentions Trump’s alleged trips on Epstein’s plane

The Department of Justice’s latest batch of files related to Jeffrey Epstein had over 11,000 files, which contained multiple pages. The total number of pages released neared 30,000 in total that mentioned Donald Trump in multiple places.

One file mentioned an email from an assistant US attorney in the Southern District of New York. Although the recipient of the email was redacted by the DOJ, the body of the email stated that Donald Trump flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane several times between 1993 and 1996.

It also said that they had finished reviewing the full flight logs, which contained over 100 pages of small script, but didn’t want the recipient to be surprised by the revelation about Trump down the line.

The DOJ took to X to defend the claims made about Donald Trump in the latest batch of the Epstein files, noting that they were “sensationalized” and “untrue.”
