WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump Jr held President Joe Biden responsible for the assassination attempt on his father, former president Donald Trump. He claimed the Democrat’s rhetoric about his predecessor led to the shooting.

During his speech at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at Trump, who sustained a ear injury. The gunman was fatally shot on the spot by a Secret Service sniper. Conspiracy theories flooded shortly after the Republican presumptive nominee’s narrow escape from death, blaming Biden and the Democrats.

However, the President condemned the attack on his Republican opponent in a live Oval Office address on July 14. Urging Americans to "lower the temperature in our politics," the octogenarian added violent incidents should not be "normalized."

Donald Trump Jr shares posts of Joe Biden slamming his father

In order to prove his narrative that Joe Biden was to be blamed for the shooting at Donald Trump, the former first son shared the screenshots of two remarks the President made in the past three weeks.

On June 28, a day after flunking the presidential debate, Biden wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation. He's a threat to our freedom. He's a threat to our democracy. He's literally a threat to everything America stands for."

Another post from July 5 read, "Justice Sotomayor warned us in her dissent that, based on the majority decision, Trump could take out his opponents, take bribes, and lead a coup while president—and be immune to being held accountable. He really could become the dictator that he promised to be on day one."

The incumbent referred to liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s statement after the top court’s ruling on presidential immunity, which, according to her, would turn a president "king above the law."

Last year, Trump claimed that he wanted to be a "dictator for a day" to close the border and build a wall across it to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the US.

Trump Jr denounced these social media posts on X. "Don't tell me they didn’t know exactly what they were doing with this crap. Calling my dad a "dictator" and a "threat to Democracy" wasn't some one-off comment. It has been the *MAIN MESSAGE* of the Biden-Kamala campaign and Democrats across the country!!!" he wrote.

Notably, Trump Jr is no stranger to making similar rhetoric against Biden. He has previously referred to the President as "a threat to democracy" on X.

Internet blasts Donald Trump Jr for blaming Joe Biden’s rhetoric for shooting on Trump

Calling out Donald Trump Jr for holding Joe Biden responsible over the assassination attempt on his father, Donald Trump, social media users pointed out the Trumps were experiencing the consequences of their own actions.

"Your father's potential VP has called him a dictator. It's time to stop the blame game and focus on real issues," a user wrote.

"This is the same guy who tweeted a pic of a pair of underwear and a hammer after Pelosi's husband got attacked, right?" another remarked.

"So trumps rhetoric couldn’t possibly be responsible for Jan 6th but bidens rhetoric is responsible for this? Make it make sense," added a third user.

"The shooter was a 20 year old white male registered republican and member of the NRA. You and your father have done nothing but spew violent rhetoric and hate for years and your dad brags about stopping laws meant to prevent gun violence. You might want to sit this one out," read a fourth response.

"This wasn't a Democrat Shooter, it was a Republican. Trying to blame President Biden for the inflammatory antics and rhetoric of his Orange Daddy is ignorant beyond words. You’re kidding no one but do keep it up. I’m sure you and Daddy will continue to grift off it all," a user commented below Mediaite's article.

"You Trumps have no one to blame but yourselves for what happened. This is your doing. Your family has been stirring up hate, division, discontent, and violence for years. You are now reaping what you have sown," someone else claimed.

"What a lowlife. Like father, like son," an individual wrote.

"Oh now Don jr. doesn’t like rhetoric, he and his father are nothing but rhetoric machines," another added.
