BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President Donald Trump has gained a new supporter in billionaire Elon Musk, who officially endorsed him for president after Saturday’s assassination attempt, according to the New York Post.

Musk commented, "The last time we had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt." He backed the ex-president's reelection bid for November, wishing him a speedy recovery after the attack on his life during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X, formerly Twitter, some thirty minutes after the horrific scenes at the Keystone State rally site.

Fortunately, the 78-year-old MAGA figurehead sustained only a minor injury to his right ear. Tragically, one rally attendee was killed, and another was seriously injured, according to law enforcement authorities.

The Secret Service unit at the scene fatally shot the assailant after he opened fire on the rally during Trump’s address.

However, Musk criticized the Secret Service for failing to prevent the attack, reposting a tweet from Jack Posobiec, who asked, “How was a sniper with a full rifle kit allowed to bear crawl onto the closest roof to a presidential nominee?”

“Extreme incompetence or it was deliberate,” Musk suggested. “Either way, the SS leadership must resign.”

Who did Elon Musk blame for the lapse in adequate security measures at Donald Trump's rally?

Elon Musk criticized the Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheadle, by sharing a tweet that highlighted her previous role as senior director at PepsiCo before joining the Secret Service.

Musk commented, "So before being put in charge of protecting the PRESIDENT, she was guarding bags of Cheetos."

Responding to a tweet from someone asking, “How the hell was such an obvious line of sight not secured,” Musk wrote, "Exactly."

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Motors also asserted in a separate tweet, “The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign.”

The individual who attempted to assassinate former President Trump during Saturday’s rally positioned himself on the roof of a manufacturing plant over 130 yards away from the stage.

The open-air campaign event took place at the Butler Farm Show grounds, providing the sniper with an unobstructed line of sight to the ex-POTUS.

The counter-sniper team, reportedly responsible for killing the shooter, returned fire from the roof of another nearby building, behind the audience stands.

Law enforcement sources mentioned that an AR-style semi-automatic assault rifle was recovered from the scene.
