WASHINGTON, DC: Billionaire Elon Musk has reportedly donated money to a political group that is supporting former President Donald Trump in the 2024 race.

As per Bloomberg News, the tech mogul gave a "sizeable amount" of money to America PAC.

Musk had said earlier this year that he did not anticipate financing either Trump or Biden’s election efforts.

Elon Musk reportedly donates to pro-Trump super PAC

The super PAC must make the list of its contributors public on July 15. America PAC was established in Austin, Texas, the home of Elon Musk's electric vehicle company, Tesla, in May.

Notably, on the organization's website, users are urged to "register to vote" and "plan to vote early in person or by mail".

The text on the website reads, "Vote and have your say if America can be a land of freedom and opportunity for all. We can have the greatest election victory in America’s history when you vote!"

The New York Times claims that America PAC has spent at least $6.6 million supporting Trump. According to Federal Election Commission records, Musk contributed more than $35,000 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2011; his greatest prior political payment was $50,000 to the McCarthy Victory Fund in 2017.

Notably, the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump met in Florida in March.

Musk told former CNN anchor Don Lemon about the meeting, "I was at a breakfast at a friend’s place, and Donald Trump came by. That’s it."

He later wrote on X, "Just to be super clean, I am not donating money to either candidate for US President."

Although he has been outspokenly critical of Biden, Musk, who also owns the social network company X, has not officially sponsored a contender in the 2024 contest.

Internet rips Elon Musk for donating 'sizable amount' to pro-Trump super PAC

Several social media users ripped Tesla owner Elon Musk as he reportedly donated money to a political group that supports former President Donald Trump in the 2024 race.

A user wrote on X, "Two creeps" while one added, "If they don’t fix the voter fraud, it won’t matter."

A person also stated, "He will get more hatred."

Another said, "Seems they picked the wrong lawfare targets."

A user also commented, "He either did or they want Elon to know if he did and are waiting for Elon to come out and deny it."
