Donald Trump Jr praises 'good guy' Mark Robinson
During a Q&A session on his podcast, Donald Trump Jr was asked about his views on Mark Robinson. He responded, "I like Mark Robinson. I think he is gonna win the North Carolina primary and the Democrats probably wanna believe they can beat him."
"I was with him a couple of weeks ago and don't know, I didn't like the whole North Carolina tour. He is a funny guy and I was in a hunting duck camp with him," he added.
He further said, "So yeah, good guy, funny guy, not afraid to say what he is thinking which I think we need more of. So I actually hope he wins that and it would be fun."
Notably, Robinson's comments were made before his entry into politics and his current role as North Carolina's lieutenant governor. They were posted under a username that CNN identified as his by matching various biographical details and a shared email address.
Donald Trump avoids Mark Robinson at North Carolina rally
GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump made no mention of Mark Robinson, or the scandal surrounding him, during his rally at Wilmington on Saturday, September 21, per The New York Times.
Trump delivered a typical rally speech, attacking his rival Kamala Harris and the Democrats over issues related to the economy and immigration. He also criticized Harris' live-streamed event with Oprah Winfrey this week and described her running mate, Tim Walz, as "weird."
Notably, Rep Dan Bishop was one of the few speakers at Saturday’s rally to address the controversy surrounding Robinson, describing the revelations as "a meticulously timed and coordinated character assassination."
Trump also did not mention Haitian migrants during his speech in Springfield, despite having falsely claimed in the presidential debate last September that they were eating people's pets.
