Don Jr’s wife Bettina honors father-in-law with cookies featuring his face on Mount Rushmore
WASHINGTON, DC: Bettina Trump, wife of Donald Trump Jr, shared a photo of a Mount Rushmore-themed sugar cookie featuring President Donald Trump's face as the Trump family traveled aboard Air Force One ahead of the president's speech in South Dakota.
The image, posted on Instagram on Friday, July 3, showed what appeared to be an AI-generated version of Trump's face placed alongside the four presidents carved into Mount Rushmore.
The post came as members of the Trump family were headed to South Dakota for the president's pre-Fourth of July appearance.

Bettina Trump posts unusual Mount Rushmore cookie
The cookie quickly drew attention because it depicted Trump's likeness alongside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln on the famous monument.
About two hours after Bettina Trump shared the image, President Trump posted a video on Truth Social showing a gold-colored replica of Mount Rushmore that also featured his face.

It remains unclear whether every passenger aboard Air Force One received the same cookie.
According to CNN senior White House reporter Betsy Klein, others on the flight were given sugar cookies featuring the traditional Mount Rushmore design with Air Force One flying overhead instead.
Trump family traveled together for South Dakota event
Bettina Trump was joined on the trip by several members of the Trump family, including her husband Donald Trump Jr, Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos.
The family traveled to South Dakota for President Trump's speech near Mount Rushmore as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The cookie became one of several images shared from the trip before the president addressed supporters.
Mount Rushmore proposal has surfaced before
The idea of adding Donald Trump's likeness to Mount Rushmore has been discussed before, though it has never been formally approved.
During his first term, then-South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem presented Trump with a four-foot replica of Mount Rushmore that included his face.
At the time, Trump said he had never formally proposed adding himself to the monument, though he joked that it "sounds like a good idea."
Earlier this year, Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced legislation that would add Trump's likeness to Mount Rushmore. The proposal did not advance in Congress.
