WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump turned his conversation at the Moms for Liberty event in Washington, DC, on Friday, August 30, to a praising session about his daughter Ivanka Trump's achievements and talents.

In a "firseide chat" with the conservative organization's co-founder, Tiffany Justice, the Republican presidential nominee put forth some claims about his 42-year-old daughter, who was an integral part of his administration, as per The Daily Beast.

At one point, the real estate mogul asserted that Ivanka sacrificed "making so much money" on her shoe line business to become part of his administration in a serious role.

“It was so hot,” he said of her shoe, clothing, and accessories business, which closed in 2018 due to declining sales, as per an NBC News report.

The end of Ivanka Trump's fashion line

Ivanka Trump shut down the luxury fashion line in 2018 after she entered into her first public service with her father.

"When we first started this brand, no one could have predicted the success that we would achieve. After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington, so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners," the former first daughter said in a 2018 statement announcing the shut down of her firm, according to CNN.

"While we will not continue our mission together, I know that each of them will thrive in their next chapter."

She retained the ownership of her brand even after taking up a role as a senior adviser in the Trump administration, but she decided to shut it down due to mounting ethical complaints and accusations of conflicts of interest.

The firm ignited controversy even when she was campaigning for Trump in 2016. After the release of the infamous Access Hollywood tape, there were calls to boycott Ivanka's clothing, jewelry, and shoe line.

After the 45th president's inauguration, luxury department store chain Nordstrom decided to drop her fashion brand from its stores due to poor performance.

Donald Trump went on hailing his daughter, who has been noticeably absent from the campaign trail. At one point, he said he wanted Ivanka to be the "United Nations secretary."

Donald further claimed that his daughter wanted to help "people get jobs".

"She would go around, not a glamorous job, to see Walmart, to see Exxon, all these big companies to hire people," the real estate mogul said, adding she "hired millions of people."

Despite their prominent roles in the Trump administration, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner avoided the spotlight since leaving the White House in 2021. The couple reportedly made $82 million in their role as senior advisers to the president.
