WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has claimed that both Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, and Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, reached out to him following an assassination attempt during a Butler, Pennsylvania rally.

According to Trump, Zuckerberg praised his resilience, stating he could no longer support a Democrat after witnessing the event. Trump revealed these interactions in an interview with New York Magazine.

On July, 15, while Donald Trump was addressing a crowd in Pennsylvania, a bullet grazed his upper ear. The bullet was fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old man from Bethel Park. 

Despite the injury, Trump remained defiant even as Secret Service agents surrounded him. His reaction led to praises from unexpected sources, including Zuckerberg and Bezos.

Trump shared that Zuckerberg called him following the event and expressed admiration for his defiance. He claimed that Zuckerberg, who had previously banned him from Facebook.

“I’ve never supported a Republican before, but there’s no way I can vote for a Democrat in this election,” Trump recalled Zuckerberg's call.

Mark Zuckerberg's upbringing is rooted in Democratic values, but his views changed after witnessing Donald Trump’s reaction, the report claimed. 

"'I will never vote for the people running against you after watching what you did.’” Trump stated, as per the interview.

However, a spokesperson from Meta clarified that Zuckerberg was not endorsing any candidate for the 2024 election.

The spokesperson told the New York Post, “As Mark has said publicly, he’s not endorsing anybody in this race and has not communicated to anybody how he intends to vote.”

What did Jeff Bezos say to Donald Trump?

Donald Trump also claimed that Jeff Bezos reached out to him after the rally, expressing similar admiration for his bravery. 

“It is the most incredible thing I’ve ever watched.” Bezos, who owns the left-leaning 'Washington Post', allegedly told Trump.

As blood streamed down his face, Trump was escorted off stage by Secret Service agents but still raised his fist to the crowd, urging them to "fight, fight."



 

Describing his conversation with Bezos, Trump said Bezos called the moment “the most incredible thing" he had ever witnessed.

Trump described how Bezos appreciated the way he handled the situation and acknowledged his efforts to stay composed despite the chaos.

"He appreciated what I did, in the sense of getting up and letting people know,” Trump told the New York Magazine, referring to his attempt to assure the crowd to “fight” despite the situation.

Trump, however, had kind words for Bezos, saying, “He couldn’t have been nicer,” referring to their conversation after the rally, New York Magazine reported.
