WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump has drawn criticism after sharing AI-generated images suggesting that Taylor Swift and her fanbase, known as “Swifties,” are endorsing him.

Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Sunday, August 18, to post a collection of these images, declaring in his post, “I accept.”

Taylor Swift's AI-generated images say 'Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump'

Among the AI-generated images Donald Trump shared was one that depicted Taylor Swift dressed like Uncle Sam with the message, “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”

Another image, clearly labeled as “satire,” featured a fake news article about a supposed foiled terror attack at Swift’s Austrian concert, with a headline reading, “Swifties turning to Trump after ISIS foiled Taylor Swift Concert.” Additional images showed young women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts.

Has Taylor Swift ever endorsed Donald Trump?

Taylor Swift, 34, has not publicly endorsed any candidate for the 2024 presidential election. In the 2020 election, she supported Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Despite this, Trump has previously taken jabs at Swift, even going as far as to credit himself for her success in February.

“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists,” he said referring to the 2018 copyright law modernization according to the New York Post.

Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will. There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money," Trump added.

Internet wants Taylor Swift to sue Donald Trump for sharing fake AI images of her endorsement

Netizens were quick to criticize Donald Trump for sharing the fake Taylor Swift endorsement.

One user on X suggested that Swift should take legal action against Trump, posting, “Who else wants Taylor Swift to sue Donald Trump?”

Another user responded, “Absolutely! She should and would win! Everybody knows she would never support Trump!”

One user remarked, “Yet another major lawsuit Trump will have to fight from jail.”

A different user highlighted the irony, writing, “Lol, Trump posted a collage of AI-generated Taylor Swift fans wearing ‘Swifties for Trump’ T-shirts, and wrote ‘I accept!’ as if this were real. I mean…..this is uniquely pathetic, even for Trump.”

“Don’t mess with sharks or Swifties, generally applicable good life advice," warned one. Another predicted trouble for Trump, saying, “This is going to end very badly for him.”

“Trump is so desperate for Taylor Swift to support him that he’s thanking an AI-generated image that he shared. The man is just so pathetic.” Another added, “He’s beyond pathetic. He has the brain of a grade schooler.”

In a more strategic view, one user suggested that this could prompt Swift to take a clear stance against Trump, saying, “This is great if it causes her to come out and take a clear stand against him.”
