Internet hails Trump as he receives standing ovation at Michigan rally a week after assassination attempt

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN: Donald Trump received a remarkable standing ovation upon his arrival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, July 20, just one week after an assassination attempt was made on the former president at a public rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

This marked his first public address since the speech he delivered upon accepting the nomination for the US presidential election at the Republican National Convention.

Donald Trump received a rapturous welcome at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was seen waving his fist to the crowd, clapping, and posing for the cameras as he made his way to the stage.

Upon arriving at the stage, he was greeted by his running mate, JD Vance, with whom he exchanged handshakes and a hug.

The crowd erupted in cheers for the former president while Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the USA' resonated in the background.



 

Trump was spotted with a new, smaller bandage on his ear wound, wearing a dark navy-blue suit paired with a white shirt and red necktie, complemented by a USA badge on the left collar of his coat.

US Representative Ronny Jackson of Texas, formerly Trump's White House physician, released a letter on Saturday stating that he has been monitoring Trump's condition regularly since the incident.

He noted that while Trump is healing as expected, he still requires a dressing for the wound.

As soon as the video of Donald Trump's Michigan rally appeared online, users began to express their support for the former president. One wrote, "Trump is the people’s president. Every rally proves that move. Just look at the crowd!"
