DOHA, QATAR: Donald Trump Jr suggested on Sunday, December 7, that the United States may simply "walk away" from the war in Ukraine, delivering a blistering critique of the conflict during a Middle East conference.

Speaking at the Doha Forum, the president's eldest son launched a lengthy tirade against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the European Union, signaling deep skepticism within the MAGA movement about continued support for Kyiv.

When asked if his father would abandon the war effort, Trump Jr replied that it was possible, adding that the US would no longer be "the idiot with the checkbook."

He argued that the conflict was being prolonged by Zelenskyy for political survival. "Zelenskyy knows he would never win an election if it ended," Trump Jr claimed.

He also offered a harsh assessment of Ukrainian society, alleging that the country's wealthy elite had abandoned the fight.

He claimed that during a visit to Monaco this summer, "50% of the supercars such as Bugattis and Ferraris had Ukrainian number plates."

"Do you think that was earned in Ukraine?" he asked the audience.

"The rich fled, and they left what they believed to be the peasant class to fight these wars," Trump Jr said.

He argued there was "no incentive to stop" the conflict because "as long as the money train was coming and they were stealing, no one was auditing anything."

Attacks on the EU and Kaja Kallas

The president's son also took aim at the European Union's Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas, mocking the effectiveness of Western sanctions.

He argued that the sanctions had backfired by increasing oil prices, which allegedly ultimately funded Russia.

"We are going to wait for Russia to go bankrupt – that is not a plan," he said of the European strategy.

Venezuelan boats 'clear and present danger'

In a comparison that aligned with the administration's new national security focus, Trump Jr dismissed the strategic importance of Ukraine compared to border threats.

He stated that he had only encountered three people during the 2022 campaign who listed Ukraine as a top priority.

By contrast, he argued that Venezuelan boats bringing f******l into the US represented a "far more clear and present danger than anything that is going on in Ukraine or Russia."
