SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA: Former president Donald Trump blasted California Gov Gavin Newsom over his executive order to clear the homeless encampments in his state. The Republican presidential nominee resorted to his infamous name-calling tactic at the Democrat, dubbing him "Gavin Newscum" in a Truth Social post.

Newsom's order on Thursday, July 25, directed the state agencies to remove thousands of homeless makeshift encampments across the Golden State that cluttered the shopping center parking lots and city parks, as per Mediaite. Local authorities would have the final say in the order.

Earlier this summer, the US Supreme Court ruled permitting cities to implement bans on sleeping in public places as cities across the country suffered from surging numbers of people without a permanent living space.

State and local lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, are seeking to overturn lower court decisions which currently block their power to clear encampments with unhoused people. Trump claims Gavin Newsom's order to remove homeless camps emerged from 'political reasons'

Trump linked Newsom's latest order to the polls as he redirected his attacks from President Joe Biden to Vice President Kamala Harris. The number two in power became the real estate mogul's likely opponent after the octogenarian stepped down from the 2024 race, endorsing his running mate for the Democratic ticket.

"Why didn't Gavin Newscum do this a long time ago? He's only doing it because, just like Crooked Joe Biden, his Radical Left Democrat Presidential Candidate, Lyin' Kamala Harris, is losing BIG in the Polls," the former president claimed on his Truth Social platform, posting a local news clip of the executive order.

"They just did it for Political Reasons, because she comes from California, and looks terrible. Right after the Election, it will go back to SLUM LIKE condition, unless we WIN — THEN, AMERICA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN!" Trump added.

However, Newsom, in the order statement, emphasized that last month's Supreme Court ruling in 'Grants Pass v Johnson' led to the decision to clear homeless encampments in the state, directing local governments to address the issue and provide those residing in makeshift homes with needed resources.

The Democrat was at the center of criticism over the skyrocketing homelessness crisis in California that alarmed prominent cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. In a video clip, Newsom admitted that addressing homelessness was the most urgent and frustrating.

"There are simply no more excuses. It's time for everyone to do their part," he said in the statement.

Internet slams Trump over his nickname for Gavin Newsom

Netizens called out Trump for name-calling Newsom and asked what he had done to resolve the homelessness situation in the country.

"Do you really thinking calling people names and bullying is honorable? WTHHHHHHH I bet Trump with his horrid personality will lose big on that alone," a user wrote.

"He did it because the United States Supreme Court ruling two weeks ago.. , just like you they gave partial immunity too! Talking about double standards, that is you.." another remarked.

"Lying again, Donnie? When you were President; California had closed to 400,000 homeless people on the streets! Today, there are less than 70,000! Because of POTUS Joe's hard work! more people are employe & with that, Gavin have the necessary resources to tackle problem!" Added a third user.

"What is your plan to help the homeless situation in America? Is that posted somewhere so I can read it?" An outraged user questioned Trump.

"This guy has the brain maturity of a 7th grader," read one tweet.

"Presidents should be role models, not immature, ignorant liars!! Trump is a disgrace," an individual commented below Mediaite's article.

"Rude Mr Trump has the luxury of a poorly informed base. He has no solution for the homeless problem, and he really couldn't care less," someone else chimed in.

"Does anyone really want four more years of his lame nicknames? His inability to discuss policy, even a little bit in-depth? His nonstop lies? His rambling speeches that don't even make sense? Why would you sign up for that?" Another user asked.
