WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Rosie O'Donnell, threatening to revoke her US citizenship in a heated post on Truth Social.

The President called the comedian a "threat to humanity" and claimed she should stay in Ireland following her move there.

Donald Trump slams Rosie O'Donnell as ‘threat to humanity’

In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Donald Trump, 79, lashed out at Rosie O'Donnell.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship," he wrote on Truth Social.

He continued, “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Their long-standing feud began in 2006 after O'Donnell criticized Trump's handling of the Miss USA controversy on 'The View'.

She had called him a “snake-oil salesman on Little House on the Prairie” and dismissed his self-made billionaire claims by citing his wealthy father.

Trump later told People magazine, “Rosie will rue the words she said. Rosie's a loser. A real loser.”

Rosie O'Donnell's move to Ireland was for 'self-preservation' ahead of Trump's second term

The latest remarks from Trump come days after Rosie O'Donnell, 63, spoke to HuffPost about leaving the US in 2024 due to growing concerns over Trump’s reelection campaign and her mental health.

“I look at America and I feel overwhelmingly depressed,” said O'Donnell, noting she wanted to protect her 12-year-old son, who has autism.

"I knew what [the Trump administration] was planning to do, because I read Project 2025. I know what he's capable of. And I didn't want to put myself through another four years of him being in charge,” she said. O'Donnell left the country before the 2025 inauguration.

In the interview, she called her decision one of “self-preservation,” adding, “I wasn’t up for this battle. The cost was too high. I still believe in the virtue of the fight—I just couldn't do it personally.”

Rosie O'Donnell says Trump’s continued jabs feel 'tragic' and depressing

After Trump’s second inauguration, Rosie O'Donnell confirmed through TikTok and Facebook posts that she had moved to Ireland in January, with her son, and would consider returning to the US “when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights.”

She told 'The Late Late Show' weeks later, “He hasn’t let it go… He uses me as a punchline whenever he feels the need.”

Reflecting on Trump’s remarks, she added, “He’s been doing it for two decades, and I’m still not used to it.”

She also warned about a bill that she claims grants Trump a personal “secret police” with a budget “greater than the money we give to Israel, which is already unbelievably high.”

“I look at America, and it feels tragic,” she said. “I feel sad. I feel overwhelmingly depressed. I don't understand how we got here.”

Internet blasts Donald Trump’s threat as 'dictatorial' and ‘beyond his authority’

Donald Trump’s post sparked outrage on social media.

Actor Billy Baldwin was among the many who reacted to Trump's statement by posting a photo of him on X. “MAGA: 'Show us the Epstein files!!!' Trump: 'Deport Rosie O'Donnell !!!'” He wrote.

One user on X wrote, “Citizenship isn't a reward for loyalty. Threatening it over speech breaks the spirit of our Constitution.”

Another person said, “Trump’s 19-YEAR grudge against Rosie O’Donnell needs to be studied.”

Journalist Andrew Feinberg added, “Setting aside the fact that this is beyond nuts, it’s also beyond his — or anyone’s — authority to revoke natural-born citizenship.”

“He CANNOT revoke the citizenship of someone who was born in this country. It’s all a distraction from the Epstein file cover-up fiasco,” wrote another.

While one user pointed out, “Both Ireland and USA have dual citizenship so I don't think he can do that...that’s very dictatorial for him to even think it let alone state it out loud.”

Still, some supported Trump’s stance. “Great he absolutely should. She left the country and continues to spew hate about our country. If you hate America, don’t let the door get you on the way out,” read one post.
