LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Donald Trump's rally in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 9, took an unexpected turn as he launched a perplexing diatribe against batteries and shark attacks.

During the rally, Trump, while seemingly attempting to discuss President Joe Biden's environmental policies concerning electric vehicles, digressed to shark attacks.

Donald Trump's bizarre rant on batteries and shark attacks

Speaking at the rally, Trump seemed to compare the dangers of batteries for electric vehicles and sharks.

He said, "It must be because of MIT, my relationship with MIT, very smart, I say, what would happen if the boat sank from its weight, and you have this tremendously powerful battery, and the battery is now underwater and there's a shark that's approximately 10 yards over there."

Trump then interjected with a purported shark attack anecdote. “By the way, a lot of shark attacks lately, did you notice? I watched some guys justifying it today. ‘Well they weren’t really that angry. They bit off the young lady’s leg because of the fact, that they were not hungry, but they misunderstood who she was'," Trump continued.

In a moment of clarity within the rambling speech, Trump pondered, “Do I get electrocuted if the boat is sinking, water goes over the battery, the boat is sinking, do I stay on top of the boat and get electrocuted, or do I jump over by the shark and not get electrocuted?”

He eventually made the choice and concluded, "I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark.”

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's batteries and shark attack rant

Trump was mocked online for his tirade against sharks and batteries.

A user tweeted, "How about talking about what he's going to do for the American people? Wouldn't that be a novel idea."

Another added, "It’s 110° and you’re going to stand there and listen to this incoherent rambling? And what is it with this guy and sharks?"

A third simply penned, "Classic Americana."

"Is Donnie stealing Kamala Harris' crib notes or what?" mockingly questioned a user.

"There was a time in this country when misspelling the word potato would get you disqualified from running for President. This is how far we have fallen," read a tweet.

"Donald Trump has officially 'J u m p e d t h e S h a r k'" added another.

"Relationship with MIT. My Dad visited the space center in Houston once. I’m going to start claiming a connection to NASA," mocked a user.

"I cannot more vehemently express how much I loathe his “growl” delivery when he thinks his stand up routine anecdotes are so clever and hilarious," stated a user.
