PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, faced ridicule on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, after claiming that he had "a lot of money" to pay the $454 million bond in the New York civil fraud ruling against him.

This comes despite multiple reports indicating that several insurance companies had refused to back the 77-year-old presumptive Republican nominee in his bid to post the hefty bond, as the firms wouldn’t accept his properties as collateral.

After voting in the GOP primary in Florida, Donald Trump appeared alongside his wife Melania Trump, and addressed reporters outside the voting area where his remarks were not focused on the primaries or the voters.

Rather, the MAGA figurehead expressed his concerns regarding the substantial amount he owes for the bond to appeal the court's ruling against him in New York.

Donald Trump says his cash is being taken away so he can't fund his campaign

Trump told reporters, "I built a great company, one of the greatest companies anywhere in the country, especially when it comes to real estate. I have some of the greatest assets in the world. And this was a rigged trial. A rigged trial by a crooked judge and a crooked attorney general, and we're fighting it out with them.”

"We have a lot of cash and we have a great company, but they want to take it away or at least take the cash element away," he remarked.

"Billions of dollars in value, billions of dollars in properties, but they'd like to take the cash away so I can't use it on the campaign. It's just a corrupt group of people, it's election interference and we'll see how the courts rule on it. I'll be guided by the courts," he said in conclusion.

Alan Garten, the general counsel of the Trump Organization, has stated that most of the companies approached by the former president were either unable or unwilling to handle a bond of that size.

Additionally, he claimed that none of them were willing to accept Trump’s real estate properties as collateral.

Trump's lawyers contended in the fraud case filing that a "bond requirement of this enormous magnitude effectively requiring cash reserves approaching $1 billion … is unprecedented for a private company."

On Wednesday, March 20, New York Attorney General Letitia James' office cited cases with larger bonds and claimed that the bond can be secured through multiple security groups.

Internet mocks Trump for claiming he has 'lot of cash' to pay nearly $500 million bond

People on X trolled the former President for his outrageous and blatant white lies despite his own lawyers disclosing that Trump has not been able to secure any major insurance companies’ backing to help him post this massive bond.

One X user remarked, "Even Nationwide denied Trump a bond, and you know things are bad when not even Nationwide is on your side."

Another user quipped, "Sure. The judge is taking 'your' money away just like the FBI took 'your' documents away."

Another user said, "Cash is King. The King should abdicate. He's broke ."

One user wrote, "Supposedly swimming in billions, yet can't manage half a billion for bond? Quit the chatter and pony up the bond money. #AllBarkNoBite"

Another X user remarked, "Always the victim. Never takes personal responsibility."

Finally, this user tweeted, "Lol dear RNC, be careful you in trouble, girl."
