AUSTIN, TEXAS: In a striking moment during his interview with Joe Rogan, former president Donald Trump showcased the scar he received from a would-be assassin’s bullet.

The conversation, which aired on 'The Joe Rogan Experience', highlighted Trump’s reflections on the dangers of his political career and the implications of public rhetoric.

Donald Trump discusses resilience after near-death experience

During the nearly three-hour discussion released on Friday night, the 78-year-old Donald Trump described the bullet wound, which grazed his ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

“It zicked right there,” he said, pointing to the scar behind his right ear. Rogan responded with admiration, saying, “It healed up pretty f***ing good.”

Trump recounted the incident, explaining how 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a rooftop 130 yards away while Trump was speaking.

The bullet only nicked him, but Trump suggested that such experiences contribute to his resilience. “It’s not like some of the wrestlers, some of the UFC fighters… it was sort of like a top shot. The thing’s taken off a little bit,” he noted, adding, “But it makes me a tougher guy.”

Throughout the interview, Trump emphasized the risks associated with the presidency, suggesting that the threats against him are often downplayed in public discourse. “I do things that don’t necessarily make me so popular. I just do what’s right,” he stated. “You understand what you’re doing. You make yourself a target, and it’s a very dangerous business. I never thought of that when I did it.”

Joe Rogan addresses media rhetoric

Joe Rogan contributed to the conversation by discussing the media’s portrayal of Donald Trump and the heightened tensions surrounding his presidency. He argued that the assassination attempts might not have occurred if media narratives didn’t conflate Trump with figures like Adolf Hitler.
