When questioned by Fox News regarding Hunter, Trump commented, “Well, I think it’s a very serious thing. I understand that whole subject. I understand it pretty well because I’ve had it with people who have it in their family.”

He further added, "It’s a very tough thing. It’s a very tough situation for a father, it’s a very tough situation for a brother or sister, and it goes on and it’s not stopping, whether it’s alcohol or drugs or whatever it may be. It’s a tough thing, and so that’s a tough moment for the family. It’s a tough moment for any family involved in that."

“Showing quite a bit of empathy there,” Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie stated following the interview. “But he doesn’t go as far as to say whether he would pardon his own son if he were in that similar situation.”

Fred Trump Jr, the older brother of Donald Trump, passed away in 1981 at the age of 42 after battling alcoholism. This experience influenced the former president's decision to abstain from alcohol.

Biden has previously stated that he would not pardon his son if found guilty, and he reaffirmed this stance on Thursday, June 13th.

“I am satisfied that I’m not going to do anything,” said Biden. “I said I’d abide by the jury decision. I will do that, and I will not pardon him.”

Internet criticizes Donald Trump's motives

As soon as Mediaite published the news on its platform, readers started reacting to it. One wrote, "Trump's motives are always transparently selfish."

Another user added, "There needs to be a serious discussion about the former president's mental faculties following his bizarre digression about electrocuting sharks."

A commentator slammed, "Imagine being dumb enough to believe trump was showing genuine empathy." [sic]

A reader mocked saying, "It looks like convicted felon trump is worried." [sic]

"I'll be honest. I'm not getting the feeling that President Biden will pardon Trump," a person claimed.
