WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump ripped CNN host Kaitlan Collins in a Truth Social rant after her recent interview with Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin, apparently one of the president's favorite lawmakers.

During the Wednesday, March 12, interview on 'The Source', Collins and Mullin sparred over Trump's tariff plans and the CNN host seemed to grill the Republican senator, per Daily Mail.

Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Thursday, March 13, morning to write, "Senator Mark Wayne Mullin was great on Fake News CNN. Made Caitlin Collins look like the third rate, low ratings reporter, she is!"

During the CNN interview on Wednesday, Collins said, "What you just said is important, that a tariff is a tax and it is passed on to consumers."

Mullins confirmed, "Of course it is. Everybody knows that."

The CNN host then said, "That is something the White House does not acknowledge."

However, Mullin argued and said, "No, that is something that the president, who as a business person, understands that completely."

He added, "No one understands the economy better than this president. There hasn't been a president that understands this economy better than this president."

Interestingly, Trump's remark on Collins comes a week after he came face-to-face with the CNN host at a lunch event for network news anchors, per the outlet. Collins was seated at the end of the table, far away from the president.

Trump doesn't seem to have a great relationship with Collins and the media house. In February, Collins and Trump argued in the Oval Office over tariffs.

Collins said, "Mr President, you won the White House in part because of high inflation if your tariffs make prices go up..." before she was cut off by Trump.

Trump then said, "Excuse me. We haven't asked you to speak yet, please."

The president then allowed the question and answer round to start and opted for a reporter other than Collins to begin.

When Collins' turn arrived, she said, "So Americans should prepare for some short-term pain?" and Trump replied, "No, you said that. I didn't say that."

He added, "We'll see what happens. Nobody really knows what is going to happen."

Internet divided as Donald Trump takes a dig at Kaitlan Collins

People on the internet stayed divided and shared mixed reactions as Donald Trump took a dig at CNN host Kaitlan Collins after her recent interview with Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin.

A user wrote on X, "CNN’s viewership has collapsed because Americans are tired of partisan “reporters” like Collins pretending to be neutral while pushing DNC talking points."

Another added, "Kaitlan Collins has a face for radio and a voice for silent films."

A person stated, "Collins got wrecked. Trump tells it like it is! CNN stays losing."

"She is vile," read a comment.

Meanwhile, some users disagreed with Trump's remarks.

An online comment read, "Kaitlan Collins is most certainly not 'third rate'. She is a big girl and certainly used to the verbal insults and abuse hurled by Trump to anyone who fact checks or asks an intelligent reasonable question."

Another commented, "Trump is just mad because this is a smart woman who puts truth to power and can dismantle MAGA sycophants with ease."

A person mentioned, "Trump is a non-presidential president who can not handle relevant and pertinent questions, so he reverts to name calling like a five year old boy would do."

"She is one of the USA's top journalists, she isn't scared or intimidated by Trump or billionaires, she will ask tough questions," remarked one.
