WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump vowed to defend the United States by implementing a much larger version of Israel's "Iron Dome" missile defense system on his return to office while speaking at a Washington, DC event on Saturday, June 22.

The 78-year-old MAGA strongman addressed over a thousand evangelical Christians at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference, saying, "In my next term, we will build a great Iron Dome over our country — a dome like has never been seen before," as per the New York Post

"A state-of-the-art missile defense shield that will be entirely built in America and create jobs, jobs, jobs," remarked the 2024 presumptive GOP presidential nominee, adding, "We’re going to build it in America. Israel has it. Israel has it. Why don’t we have it?"

During his birthday rally at Club 47 in West Palm Beach on June 14, Trump first floated the idea of building a "great" Iron Dome for the nation, claiming that it would be "made in America."

"By next term, we will build a great Iron Dome over our country. We deserve a dome. We deserve it all, made state of the art," declared the former POTUS

"It's a missile defense shield, and it'll all be made in America," said the ex-Commander-in-Chief, adding, "Jobs, jobs, jobs."

Israel roughly has the same landmass as the state of New Jersey, as per Fox News.

Trump has yet to provide specifics, like whether the "great Iron Dome" would span the entire length and breadth of the country or, how much it would cost to implement the anti-missile system effectively.

According to him, former President Ronald Reagan originally supported the construction of an Iron Dome in the US "but at that time, we didn't have the technology."

"We now have the technology," declared Trump at the Club 47 event.

He further claimed, "It's all going to be made in States. We're going to have a big, beautiful Iron Dome. Great opportunity for young people."

The Iron Dome, Israel's missile defense system, is engineered to intercept and eliminate short-range rockets and artillery projectiles launched from distances of up to 43 miles.

Since its inception in 2011, the Iron Dome has consistently thwarted and neutralized rockets originating from Hamas as well as Iranian drones and missiles.

Notably, the all-weather air defense system project received around $1.6 million from the US between 2011 and 2021.

A person claimed, "It would take more money than we could print to put an 'Iron Dome' type system over the United States." "Because Mexico & Canada aren’t going to launch rockets at us. We don’t need it," quipped someone else.
