WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump incited a sizable assembly of conservative and religious voters on Saturday, June 22, just a few days before what is anticipated to be an incredible head-to-head matchup with President Joe Biden in the first presidential debate of 2024.

The 77-year-old spoke without holding back when addressing the impending conflict, drawing in an eclectic audience of over a thousand people for the Faith & Freedom Coalition's annual Road to Majority conference which was crammed into the ballroom of the Washington Hilton.

"Nobody's going to be watching the debate on Thursday night, right?" Trump joked, according to Fox News, prompting laughs from the crowd. He urged Christians to cast ballots in November during a portion of his introductory remarks. "Christians don't vote that much. You don't have to vote in fours years, but you have to vote this time," Trump joked.

Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin spoke just ahead of Donald Trump

Shortly before Trump, Republican governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin made a call to action to restore the former president's position in the White House and to fortify Republican majority in Congress.

The two made their first-ever public appearance together earlier this month, sparking speculation that Youngkin is being considered as a possible running mate for the vice presidency. The poll had just shown Trump and Biden tied in blue-leaning state.

This is the most recent instance of several people who are supposedly in the running for the position possibly facing off on stage to win over Trump's approval before this summer's Republican National Convention.

Internet lashes out at Donald Trump after he addresses evangelical Christian voters

Netizens vented out their frustrations on the former president after his address to Christian voters. One X user wrote, "He made noises but not anything coherent." Another wrote, "How’s he gonna make an ass outta himself this time?"

"Trump knows America will never elect a convicted felon to the highest office of the land! America is too proud for that! But he’s going to take all the money from all the fools who decide to handover their wallets and ran away with it. It’s like Trump university all over again!" wrote one.

Another chimed in, "That’s incredible, a person who doesn’t go to church and desecrated the Bible to make money to pay his fine for sexually abusing a stranger in a dept store, is giving a speech at a Faith & freedom event? Republicans have no moral or ethical compass, it’s all about power."
