COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA: Former President Donald Trump celebrated his decisive victory in the South Carolina GOP primary against Nikki Haley, declaring his confidence to beat President Joe Biden in their potential face-to-face rematch in November, reported The Hill.

In his victory speech on Saturday, February 24, the Republican frontrunner announced, "We're going to be up here on November 5, and we're going to look at Joe Biden, and we're gonna look him right in the eye."

"He's destroying our country and we're gonna say 'Joe, you're fired. Get out. Get out, Joe. You're fired'," he said to a cheering crowd. He additionally expressed his desire for the general election to arrive sooner, stating that waiting "nine months" felt like "a long time."

According to CNN, the ex-President secured 59.8% of total votes, whereas Haley had 39.5%. This is Trump's fourth consecutive victory against the former UN Ambassador in a head-to-head competition as he closes in on becoming the GOP nominee for a third time.

Donald Trump says Republican party is 'so unified'

As his staunch supporters stood behind him, cheering on the victory speech, Trump claimed he had never seen the present unity in the Republican party before. "And I just want to say that I have never seen the Republican Party so unified as it is right now," the White House hopeful said. "Never been like it."

Further into the speech, he thanked the Congress members who supported his presidential bid.

"And our party is full of energy like never before. And I mean it there's never been unity. There has never been unity in our party," he continued.

Interestingly, Trump singled out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, branding her the "hardest worker."

"Very special woman. A woman who was actually out campaigning today, she is the hardest worker. The most incredible woman. She's respected by everybody. She is very smart. And I'm just very happy that she's on our side," the former president said as he praised his longtime ally.

Following the resounding victory in the Palmetto state, the Trump campaign has shifted its focus to March 5, Super Tuesday, when more than a dozen states will head to polls to select their presidential nominee.

Despite the 20-point loss in her home state, Haley declared her firm decision to "keep fighting."

Internet unsure of Donald Trump's victory in November

The former President's South Carolina victory speech failed to convince social media users of his confidence to beat Biden in the general election as a majority suggested against the possibility.

One user simply remarked, "Doubt it," and another individual said, "Not happening."

"Trump will have more felony counts than electoral votes come November," a user added.

Another response read, "In his dreams he's gonna get destroyed in the general election."

"Yeah this is the same Trump that lost the popular vote twice," an individual chimed in. Another user shared a meme that said, "DOUBT IT."
