ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA: During his campaign rally in South Carolina on Friday, February 23, former President Donald Trump expressed gratitude to several people and particularly lauded Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga).

Trump delivered his remarks preceding the South Carolina Republican primary scheduled for Saturday, where he is expected to defeat the Palmetto State’s former two-term governor, Nikki Haley, by a significant margin.

Despite calls to withdraw from the presidential race, Haley has remained steadfast in her campaign, according to a report from Mediaite.

In light of the former UN ambassador’s decision to continue her presidential bid after last month’s New Hampshire primary, Rep Greene has advocated for “eradicating” Haley from the Republican party, altogether.

What did Donald Trump say about Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday?

Having thanked Rep Nancy Mace of South Carolina, Donald Trump went to another person, praising them before disclosing who they were.

“Now, a really shy person,” Trump remarked sarcastically. “A person that, I mean, honestly, she’s a good person. She’s been with me for so long. She’s been with me in good times and bad times.”

The 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner shared, “If times are bad, she’ll call me up and say, ‘Don’t worry about it, Sir. You’re doing great.’ And if times are good, she’ll call me up twice.”

“But she’s a fantastic person. She’s a very smart person and very respected in Congress,” Trump added. “A lot of people don’t know how respected she is – Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

The audience cheered, as many in attendance gave her a standing ovation. Greene has been, to put it mildly, a contentious character in the public eye.

After the Georgia lawmaker was discovered to have liked a Facebook post suggesting that Rep Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) should be shot in the head before she arrives in Congress, the Democratic-controlled House in 2021 voted to remove Greene from her committee assignments.

Additionally, it was uncovered that Greene promoted conspiracy theories concerning the September 11 attacks and mass shootings.

Greene has also claimed that the Rothschild family used spacecraft to trigger wildfires in California, and that "Pelosi's gazpacho police" are spying on members of Congress.
