NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was backed by anti-vaxxers online after she took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share her doubts about the Covid-19 vaccines.

Her claims were made after the Daily Mail published an article, stating that a study on Covid vaccines has found that it is linked to a minor yet increased risk of neurological, blood, and heart disorders. It was conducted by an international coalition of vaccine experts, who looked for higher rates of 13 medical conditions in the recipients. The study was the largest of its kind, with 99 million people participating across eight countries.

The companies that created the vaccines whose effects were studied include Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.

Despite the warning, researchers have concluded that the absolute risk of a recipient developing any negative side effects remained extremely small. For instance, 13 billion doses of vaccines have been administered and there have only been 2,000 cases of all conditions.

The congresswoman retweeted a post citing the Daily Mail report on Wednesday, February 21, and wrote, "I’ve been trying to tell everyone and I’ve been pushing my @COVIDSelect committee to investigate the vaccines."

"The COVID vaccines do not stop the spread of COVID," she claimed, adding, "The COVID vaccines cause severe medical problems for some people. The COVID vaccines are not safe for children."

While some on the internet called out Greene for spreading fear and misinformation about the Covid vaccines, she did find many voices in her support.

"Bull crap they’re not extremely rare they’re happening to almost everyone that’s getting it!" exclaimed a user.

"They poisoned the majority of the nation. They need to be charged," wrote another.

A third enquired, "Why would any sane and rational person take an experimental injection for something that is nearly 100% recoverable?"

"Many have known this for a long time," claimed a fourth.

"They are not safe for anyone," said another user.

A sixth user shared a meme that tried to show doctors hiding from the results of the vaccine study.
