WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff commemorated their 10th wedding anniversary with heartfelt social media posts on Thursday, August 22.

The posts were shared ahead of Harris’ much-anticipated speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Doug Emhoff shares touching video tribute to Kamala Harris 

Doug Emhoff took to social media to share a video featuring a collection of photos of the couple over the years.

The video included a voice-over where he reminisced about their first date and expressed the deep love he felt from the very beginning.

In the video caption, Emhoff wrote, "Ten years of marriage, forever to go. Happy anniversary, @VP. I love you." 

“We did go on that first date. Love at first sight," he says in the video voice over.



 

"We were literally talking about our future by the end of that first date. And that next morning, I’m sending her an email, ‘Here are my availabilities for the next six months,’” Emhoff continued in the video, recounting the early days of their relationship.

He then concludes the video with a heartfelt message, saying, "And 10 years later, here we are," and added, "Happy anniversary, honey. Love, Doug," expressing his love for Harris.

Kamala Harris admires Doug Emhoff's support 

Vice President Kamala Harris also marked the occasion with a post on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting on their decade-long journey together.

"Happy anniversary, Dougie. I wouldn't want to be on this journey with anyone but you," Harris wrote.



 

Earlier in the week, Emhoff spoke about their marriage during an address at the Democratic National Convention.

He expressed his trust in Harris, saying, “I trusted Kamala with our family’s future. It was the best decision I ever made."

"This Thursday will be our 10th wedding anniversary which I know, it means I’m about to hear that embarrassing voicemail again,” Doug said, referring to a voice note he sent Harris the morning after their first date, reports Guardian.

Doug Emhoff and Harris' post about their anniversary sparked reactions online with many users congratulating on reaching the milestone.
