Barrymore particularly appreciated Stewart’s honest remark about not caring so much about what her ex-partner felt but rather focusing on "what people are doing with themselves.”

This led to an interesting exchange between the two women, with Barrymore asking Stewart if she had ever been with “an idle man”—a man who wasn’t actively pursuing goals or ambitions.

“A man not doing anything?” Martha Stewart replied, before adding emphatically, “They don’t interest me.” The audience erupted in laughter at her candidness, but Barrymore wasn’t far behind with her own experience.

“I have,” Barrymore admitted. “I can’t recommend it.”

The two shared a laugh, with Stewart joking, “I wouldn’t think of it!” Barrymore, in turn, shared the revelation that being with an “idle man” helped her realize her own relationship motto: “If you don’t work, we don’t work.”
