WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has unveiled a striking vision of a “DronePort” atop his proposed White House ballroom, casting the controversial project as a military and national security asset.
Trump shared the image on Truth Social Friday night, August 7, showing six drones on a white rooftop surrounded by armed military personnel, with the Washington Monument visible in the distance.
Trump calls ballroom a military asset
“This great and very important military asset sits atop the heavily protected Ballroom at the White House,” Trump wrote. “It provides National Security for Washington, DC, and will protect future Presidents!!!”
The post came hours after a federal appeals court ruled against Trump’s ballroom project.
The Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled 2-1 that the project was illegal because the administration had not received congressional approval.
Trump had demolished the historic East Wing to make way for the ballroom.
Trump attacked the ruling in a separate late-night Truth Social post, calling it “a National Security Threat at the highest level.”
He also described the ballroom as a “Military Complex.”
Trump ties DronePort to court fight
In his response to the ruling, Trump specifically pointed to the rooftop “DronePort” while defending his plans for the White House.
“Two Judges, one appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, the other by Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump wrote, referring to the judges who ruled against the project.
He described the proposal as a “desperately needed SECURE Ballroom/Military Complex” that would include “a major DronePort on the roof.”
Trump argued that presidents have the authority to renovate and secure the White House without congressional permission.
“We are PRESIDENTS, elected by the people of the United States of America, and have many rights, including the right to fix, renovate, secure, protect, and beautify the White House grounds,” he wrote.
Trump said the court ruling was made after much of the work had already been completed and paid for.
He again called it “a National Security Threat at the highest level” and “a National Disgrace.”
Trump shares more military imagery
The “DronePort” image was followed by another similar image appearing to show the same rooftop scene at sunset.
Trump also posted an AI-generated image of himself alongside two of America’s most famous military figures, George S Patton and Douglas MacArthur.
The images came as Trump continued his fight over the ballroom project, which he has now publicly linked to military and national security purposes.
In his post attacking the court ruling, Trump said the proposed complex would help “secure, protect, and beautify” the White House grounds.
He ended the message by declaring, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
