WASHINGTON, DC: Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert has been blasted online after she called White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre a “DEI hire.”

Taking to X, the 37-year-old politician said, “I couldn’t care less about what @PressSec has to say today. It’s between 10 am-4 pm which means ‘President’ Joe Biden supposedly should be coherent enough to take a few questions from the press.”

“Instead, Americans are supposed to listen to the discredited DEI hire. PASS,” she added.

According to The Independent, Boebert's tweet referred to an Axios report stating that the 81-year-old Democrat "remains consistently engaged" from 10 AM to 4 PM.

However, beyond that timeframe, he reportedly experiences "verbal miscues and fatigue."

Netizens label Lauren Boebert's comment on Karine Jean-Pierre as 'disrespectful'

Meanwhile, people have criticized Boebert for her comments about Jean-Pierre.

A reader below an article reportedly commented, “To all the racists out there. DEI is not affirmative action. There is no such thing as a DEI hire. I suggest learning what DEI actually is.”

Another reader shared, “It is so irritating that in this day and age, white people don't believe that Black people can get jobs on their own merits. Which lets you know that the racism is alive and well in America. And those that agree with her need to check their ideology.  When a white person gets a job, it's on their own merits.  When a black person with the same credentials gets that same job it has to be DEI?” [sic]

“Personally, I could care less if she was a DEI hire. Her credentials are far more impressive than the GED congresswoman's and she is far far more intelligent.  During the past administration there was a real loser of a press secretary who lied through her teeth (and admitted as much) and then went on to become the governor of Arkansas, albeit she used the name of her famous father (another governor of Arkansas) to get in." a user said. [sic]

"Oh, and talk about DEI hires, Trump hired only sycophants and bobbleheaded yes men without any qualifications for the office.  Boebert is still dumb as a bag of rocks and it shows,” the user added.

“Let’s talk about your failed attempts at getting your GED,” an X user tweeted.

Another one added, “DEI hire? Not only was that incredibly racist, it was disrespectful. A sitting Congresswoman should be better than that.”
